Fu*k ALL THE JEAN GREY HATERS OUT THERE!

She was the First X-Women, Omega-Level Telepathy & Telekinetic and the original host of the Phoenix Force, so back the Hell off. She is one of the greatest female X-men who ever lived. No one on that team power compare's to her.

Her return to comics would be great, and is something I have been expecting for years.

    Praise the Lord!!!

YESS YESSSS YESSSSS!!! There's no reason to keep JEAN GREY dead!! Her most recent death adds NOTHING to her character or those around her.

If you don't want to give her the Phoenix Force back, im perfectly fine with that, but KEEP HER ALIVE THIS TIME!

I don't mind Jean grey coming back but as long she's not doing the whole love triangle crap with Cyke, it's been done 2 many times I rather see her on the Avengers or just the hell away from Scott (guy had enough chances with her and she's given him enough chances and he f'd up time to move on)

    The whole "moving on" thing.

    Here's my reasoning:

Marvel most probably isn't going to break up Emma and Scott, if they do do anything in regards to them, its going to be sex, making out, or something dirty to make Emma jealous for pure shock value. So if they mention the whole thing, they'll end up dismissing it, or logically justifying that Emma and Scott are happy together or whatever, It doesn't matter. What matters is that the issue is exposed and acknowledged. If the issue isn't mentioned then at some point in the future (which may not be close, but still) the issue will be pulled up eventually and that'll be possibly worse. There's also the chance that the issue is going to be completely forgotten, but I'd rather not take it.

This would be a step back for the characters I think. Scott never owned his balls while he was with Jean. Great leader, but massive Mr No Personality.

Thought that's what you were referring to.

I absolutely agree with what you've said.

I also want it specified at some point that Emma was Scott's decision (in New X-Men right before Jean is killed, he tells Emma that he's made his decision. What that decision was is never explicitly stated).

Even though I slam Marvel a lot, I do like that even if they bring Jean back, they waited more than 2 year to do it. They usually kill someone then bring that person back the next month.

They're still lame for a million other reasons though.

Plus I don't think that's his choice necessarily, too.

I think the two of us have been over this, but the thing that makes Emma/Scott so great, is how firmly set in reality it is. Over-Romanticizing the whole thing wouldn't appeal to me.

I'm fine with Jean coming back. However, only if she doesn't have the PF. I'm sorry the PF was good for only one story, and after than it was sh*t. It ruin her character, She was so powerful, there was no place for her on the x-men, or almost all of the marvel's universe.

Marvels hinted at it too many times for me to believe that jean is coming back. If she does please have her come back for a good reason.

Scott and Emma touch on the subject have jean ask if emma's made scott happy. I'd like to see her have a talk with Melita Garner about keeping logan in line and that she poses no threat to them as a couple.

Avenger or a member of the future foundation I think she would fit better on one of these teams for a time.

8 years since her death, its obvious that it's pomfar period at the marvel idea bubble :P

Does this suprise me........... no. I mean pretty much every character in the marvel has a nact of not staying dead to long, the trick is that the longer that they stay dead the more powerfull they are when they return (so when uncle ben finally comes back he'll be like the most powerful person in the omniverse :P )

There's a catch. There has to be a catch.

If the picture is cropped, it's most likely a team. Seeing how that might be the Hulk, this looks like the rumored Uncanny Avengers.

Why bring up that costume again? It's very old and dated.

My bet? It's Hope Summers, dressed as Jean, Joining the Uncanny Avengers.

Not a huge fan of dying and coming back to life in comics but I'm glad they didn't rush to bring her back and at least waited a few years. I'm probably biased though because I really like Jean and am glad she's back.

All they've done is tease her return for years. It'd be worth bringing her back at this point just to shut them up. And of course, if they do bring her back, they'll need to make some changes for her. My expanded thoughts on how to do that (source thread):

    @fodigg said:

If Jean comes back Cyclops should feel literally compelled to go to her but visibly struggling against it, whereby it is then revealed by Jean (who is temporarily infused with Phoenix energy before she ditches it forever in the White Hot Room so she can finally evolve as a character) that Mr. Sinister programmed both her and Scott to pursue each other for the benefit of his genetics experiments. Then together Jean and Emma remove this mental programming from Scott (Jean's is already gone from her rebirth) and Scott comfortably stays with Emma.

    This would accomplish the following:

    • Retains the current continuity instead of backtracking to a decades old status quo.
    • Allows them to defy expectations and have Jean & Emma working together and getting along swimmingly.
    • Let's them permanently uncouple Jean and Scott, allowing Scott's growth to stay and for Jean to become something more than just the center of the Scott/Logan love triangle.
    • Explains a galling character flaw in Scott's history--ditching his wife for the "real" Jean--which has dogged the character for years. Both the relationship with Maddy and subsequent flight to the returned Jean would be explained as Sinister's programming taking root.
    • De-mystifies their relationship without totally nullifying it. They can look back on their years fondly and know they truly loved each other without any sort of active pursuit in the present, and with the firm knowledge that they weren't some sort of "soul mates," but were guided by Sinister's machinations. Again, defy expectations by making them incredibly fast friends without any tension.
    • Provides an opportunity for Scott to drop some baggage. He's been growing more and more tense and, well, villain-like over recent years. There would be an opportunity to drop miscellaneous other mental "viruses" of Sinister's here that could be used as an explanation to have Scott chill out a little, and maybe even hand the reigns of the X-Men over to someone more even-handed, like say Storm, who will go back to the mohawk and cut any fool who steps. Ah, to dream.

Then of course they should have Logan make his romantic advances—which Scott has no problem with—and be politely but firmly told no. Not because they couldn't write a story about that, but because if Jean is going to come back she needs to become something new, and she can't do that if her primary role is as someone else's love interest.

Jean Grey has been gone for years and yet because of the constant teases we're all still sick of her. And worse, all her usual props and roles (e.g., Phoenix, team telepath, Cyclops' love interest) have been passed off to other characters (e.g., Emma, Cuckoos, Rachel Summers, Korvus, Hope, Cable, Nate Grey, Phoenix Five) so she has no unique role to go back to. The only solution as I see it is to allow her to return, but then ditch the Phoenix thing permanently and let her develop into something new. New personality, new relationships, new costume, new abilities.

Good guess. I wouldn't be surprised. It'd be more of the same from Marvel.

It's most likely Hope, and the book is probably going to be the rumored "Uncanny Avengers".

    Marvel Architects:

    - "Story telling or money?

    -(collectively) "MONEY."

    - "On that that note, I say instead of telling interesting stories, we pit heroes against each other, have one die and bring one back to life."

-"Heres another idea, why not reboot books coming out of this event and cancel all of our female lead books?"

-"See, Fraction here knows how to make money."

-"Bring in the strippers! And make it RAIN!" (strippers walk in as money falls from the ceiling)

No, please no. Goodness me, no. Just no.

Haven't heard this rumor? Basically, it's a Remender book that's going to have Wolverine and Cap in it...and that's all that is known.

First off, Jean Grey has probably died less times than the majority of the famous superheroes, so let's get over that now. She doesn't 'always die and come back'.

Second, she's been dead for almost a decade which is a very long time for such a prominent character to stay dead for.

Third, Jean probably has the most important death in the Marvel universe because, unlike Uncle Ben or Gwen Stacy's where a mantra of theirs is repeated or people say they miss them, Jean's death has had significant and long lasting and important ramifications long past her demise. She's still been a massive part of the comics, just not actually in them.

Fourth, Marvel have been teasing her return for years now, beginning, of course, with Messiah CompleX and the birth of the Mutant Messiah Hope Summers. Time and again they've hinted at her return but to no avail. They've all been ruses to make fans buy the comic.

I say yay to this. It's about time Marvel pulls their finger out and gives us a solid explanation for Hope Summers once and for all and her connection to both the Phoenix Force and Jean Grey and, most importantly, just bring Jean back.

Oh, no. I've f*cking heard the rumour, alright. (excuse my language) My main reasons for acting as if this going to be detrimental towards my health is that, if this is true, then that means those OTHER titles might just come into act as well, and that will mean there's actually going to be a bi-weekly X-Title from Bendis. :(

The people at Bleedingcool can go to--i don't even know.

Then end of Uncanny X-Men had Mr. Sinister bring back (several copies of) Madelyn Pryor. Marvel be trollin' perhaps?
