One of the five Elders who assisted his defeat and imprisonment
The cover of this story is very reminiscent of Fantastic Four #41, when the Frightful Four had brainwashed the Thing and he threatened to smash Sue Storm's force field, causing her to faint. However, the cover here is misleading. The story is actually more like that in FF #34, when Gideon forced the FF to fight among themselves, pitting Ben against Reed and Johnny against Sue. Here Ben attacks Reed and Sue attacks Johnny. This in-fighting occurs at the end of the story. Earlier in the issue Sue is threatened by monsters and almost gets eaten, twice!
The latest in a long line of warriors who wielded the power, Danny Rand is the immortal Iron Fist: protector of the mystical city of K'un Lun. He channels the soul of the dragon Shou-Lao making his fists into powerful weapons. He is among the best, if not the best fighter in the Marvel Universe. He has also been a member of The Defenders and the New Avengers.
