Lobdell on Titans Hunt?!!? What the h#!! happened to Dan Abnett? And why is it apparently only eight issues now?
Also noticing no more Tom King and Tim Seeley on Grayson, and no more Patrick Gleason on Robin: Son of Batman. Not to mention all the books where that maintain their writers, but have new artists. Or have half of their writing team but the other co-writer vanished. Or the regular artist is only doing the cover.
Anyway, is Gene Luen Yang permanently off of Superman? It seems pointless to have had him at all if he was only going to do such a short run. And he didn't even get to do any stories with Supes at his regular power levels. I sort of expected Pak's Action run to end, though. He's been on there a good while and is now writing Teen Titans and is already off of Superman / Batman.
And holy!! Legends of Tomorrow maintains its eight dollar price, and Justice League #50 is even more expensive (by a dollar) than all the previous month's #50's.
It's probably just how I feel about Tom King's writing style, but both The Vision and Omega Men both sort of almost make me cringe. They both seem extremely unextraordinary to me, Like i said, I think it's his writing style. It's a shame, because I love the Vision as a character, and I usually really love DC's cosmic stuff. Starlin minis such as Mystery in Space and Rann / Thanagar Holy War, Bedard's REBELS series, and even the New 52's Threshold were all great. Though, I didn't care too much for Threshold's extremely clever ending. The thing is though that I do enjoy Grayson, but that one is co-written by Tim Seeley.
I will also be getting the following comics released this week alphabetically:
All-New Hawkeye #2 (Marvel)
Batman #47 (DC)
Batman / Superman #27 (DC)
Batman / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 (of 6) (DC)
Detective Comics #47 (DC)
Earth Two: Society #7 (DC)
Grayson #15 (DC)
Green Arrow #47 (DC)
Justice League: Gods and Men -- Lex Luthor #1 (DC)
Scarlet Witch #1 (Marvel
Ultimates #2 (Marvel
I may pick up Red Hood / Arsenal #7 and/or New Suicide Squad #15 eventually just because I am a completionist. I also have items backordered that may come in.
I would also like to not that Justice League #46 has apparently been pushed back to next week. (2015/12/16)
The solicitation for this issue on the Diamond Comics distributor website shows the correct cover, but still lists the creative team and summary as Bryan Hitch and Hitch's story. Will we have to look at the previous issue's solicit from now on to find out what is going on in any new issue? My guess is when the March solicits are released, the JLA #9 solicit will be the same they had for #8 with the note that the story was originally supposed to appear in #8, and that is how they will fix it from that point on. They really should have made a bigger effort to rectify their mistakes.
I'm predicting that the grave in the flash-forward in this season's first episode belongs to Quentin Lance.
Anyway, what I really want to see happen is a reveal that Damien Dahrk stole Tommy Merlyn's body soon after his death and used his stolen Lazarus Pit knockoff to resurrect him, yet he is in a broken state. Darhk would then have trained him in fighting styles and is keeping him somewhere to use as a weapon against Malcolm if the need arises. But then when Dahrk confirms that Oliver Queen is the Green Arrow, he decides that Tommy would be an equally effective weapon against him. After Dahrk is defeated, they begin trying to help Tommy and by the end of the next season he is able to help in the final showdown against whomever may be that season's villain, and then joins Team Arrow. Make it happen Berlanti, Kreisburg, and Guggenheim!
I'm not certain when she was replaced by a Skrull or when that Skrull died. But since it was revealed she had been replaced in Secret Invasion, she has been a regular in the second New Avengers series, then in the second Secret Avengers series, and I'm not sure where she has been since then, but at the end of that series she was seen meeting up with Bucky Barnes and Daisy Johnson.
