    History

    Original Continuity: New Earth

Tharr is one of the Buffer Planets seeded by Mon-El, after the Dominator Invasion! of Earth. The planet was settled between Dominion space and Earth to prevent any future attacks. Tharr is the sole planet in orbit around its giant blue-white star. It is an extremely dry and hot world, almost uninhabitable. When its mineral deposits were surveyed, it was deemed too valuable to ignore.

The colonists of Tharr needed to develop new environmental technologies just to survive there. They constructed underground dwellings with massive cooling towers to chill and circulate the outside air. Over time, the meta-gene positive Tharrians developed cryokinesis the ability to generate fields of intense.

Most of the buildings on the planet are constructed underground to take advantage of Tharr's geologically cold core.
