@baneofdemon22: It was lame, but I didn't get the feeling corny lines like that will be common place. (Even then, I'd say it's better than the gloomy crap).

@baneofdemon22: Just my .02, the CW teen-drama takes on "super heroes" (quotes, because it's not like Smallville was actually about Superman, and GA isn't "super") never appealed to me, but after watching the Flash pilot, I definitely am going to tune in. It seems a lot different than the usual CW crap. It's less gloomy (just like most Flash comics usually having a more positive "air" about them), and really focused on Barry & his (new) identity as a costumed, super-powered crime fighter.

The name's Poochie D.

And I rock the telly.

I'm half Joe Camel and a third Fonzarelli.

I'm the Kung-Fu hippie, from Gangsta City.

I'm a rappin' surfer.

You the fool I pity.

I can understand why people prefer Flashpoint - it is "deeper". War was "messy", less "deep" & well frankly, it's new-52 (haha). But I still prefer War because "Justice League: Flashpoint" wasn't really JL. It was not-Batman, not-WW, not-Aquaman, not-Superman, no GL.....etc etc. And I don't feel I can really judge it as a Flash-specific story either. Despite it's flaws War still had a strong "JL vibe" and that's what I enjoyed. We don't get many movies out (at least it feels that way since there's no DC cartoon shows out, so the space between the movies is dead of animated hero content), so if I'm promised JL (my favorite "thing" of DC comics), I want the JL.

Neither is close to my favorite DC animated feature, though.

@silverpool: (I know that) So...yes, my original notion was correct, haha. My original comment was just to Tony saying "he went back to begin Nightwing, from Batman (so maybe he'll go back again)" - I was just pointing out that he probably would have never gone back "story wise" if there hadn't been a 'reboot'. That he "went back" to being Nightwing only because the DC decision-makers deemed it so (to sell a Nightwing book), not because something in the story led to it happening. (Really, according to current continuity he was always Nightwing). And therefore, I don't think he'll go back to being Nightwing now.

@silverpool: No, I know they both were Batman, I meant more that the "pre 52" ended shortly after Bruce returned, right? So that continuity ended with there being 2 Batmans active, and Dick was inexplicably Nightwing at the start of the new52 (if I'm not mistaken).

This is as good of a place as any:

I want to ask for a recommendation. Should I watch Avengers Assemble &/or Hulk atAoS? I know everyone has different tastes, so I can tell you I liked Ultimate Spider-Man (though I haven't watched S2). It definitely wasn't my favorite comic-toon nor is it even in my top tier (I know a lot of people here HATE it). It wasn't "accurate" & it includes more humor than necessary for an older viewer, but I enjoyed the animation style & thought the action scenes were good (give me my fill of hearing & seeing the fight-scenes I normally have to see in still-frame).

Is there enough of that type of thing in AA &/or Hulk to warrant watching them too? (I'm close to "jonesing" for more animated super-hero content. We only get a few animated movies a year & that's mostly DC. Aside from these toons I've got nothing Marvel to watch (orig. that is, you can only re-watch the older stuff so many times).

I couldn't agree with this article more. About comic-cartoons & just about Saturday Morning cartoons (/cartoons on the cartoon-centric channels). It seems they just pump out goofy stuff for kids - hardly any action cartoons anymore. I sort-of remember watching the 90's X-Men & Spiderman, but it was JL & Superman:TAS (and the comic-toons that followed, including the 00's X-men shows) that really hooked my interest. I've gone back & re-watched all those series; they still hold-up even in my 20's.

With most of them rated PG-13, they’re not exactly appropriate for the younger crowd, despite many parents taking their kids to them.

So true. I was baby sitting my neighbor's (almost) 5yo girl recently & she told me she saw DoFP. Sometimes she makes things up so I quized her a bit & she really did, said her dad took her. I just thought......WHAT? I was later told both her mom & step-mom didn't think it was a great idea ("I showed her the trailer & she said she wanted to see it"...me thinks dad doesn't have as many guy-friends since he settled down & wanted someone to share it with), and I'd be inclined to agree. People getting stabbed through the torso by sentinels definitely isn't child appropriate.

Then again again, he did return to Nightwing after being Batman.

Wasn't that just because of the new-52 "reboot"? - that they wanted to have a Nightwing title. (Or was there an in-comic explanation I'm not aware of).

Very good review tho G-Man, answered what I wanted to know ("vibe" wise) about this title. I think I'm going to have to pass on this one. Not angry he's not no-longer Nightwing, just not a fan of non-SuperHero business.
