This will not be a typical review of each comic listed below but simply a rating and short synopsis, what I liked, disliked, etc. If you have a book you think I should check out please leave me a recommendation below in the comments.
Immortal Hulk #12:
If you aren't reading this book then go start! This issue continues the awesomeness that has been Ewing's Immortal Hulk run. I can't really describe in words how good it has been. 5/5
Superior Spider-Man #2:
Otto vs Terrax? Come on this would get flagged for spite if it was in the battle forums! Gage actually manages to make this an interesting issue despite the obvious mismatch. That ending has me locked in for the next issue too... 3.5/5
Guardians of The Galaxy #1
Cates makes me care more about the GOTG in this single issue than Bendis and Duggan's entire runs. That huge cast/roster on the cover? Not so fast my friend...I have a feeling this series is going to really shine and the ending and potential there is fascinating. 4/5
The recent over saturation of events in comics has been a sore spot with me for quite some time. I have avoided the last several from Marvel and reluctantly read Forever Evil after its lengthy delays. With that being said I have been on a big kick reading independent comics over the last several months and found myself missing some of my favorite characters growing up, namely the Avengers and X-Men. I read a big chunk of Remender's Uncanny Avengers (and quite enjoyed it) but I have not picked up an X-Men comic featuring the main characters since Bendis took over the franchise.
Thanks mostly to Comicvine I have a general idea of the premise of AXIS and decided to check it out. I was skeptical of some of Remender's recent projects but his Uncanny Avengers has been quite enjoyable so I decided to check this "event book" out.
I am quite pleased with how this first installment has played out. Growing up reading comics, Onslaught was not one of my favorite ideas but I really like how Remender has used that character here with the Red Skull and Xavier as opposed to the Magneto/Professor X amalgam. The idea is a bit out there but in the world of comics it fits right in. Onslaught definitely has a place in Marvel comic lore and Remender makes good use of that here. It makes the Red Skull extremely formidable as a villain and increases the urgency and desperation we get here.
The art is a bit inconsistent but that is to be expected with a couple of different artists on the book. Both artists do a good job of capturing the overload of action. Leinil Yu also draws one of the most beautiful renditions of the Enchantress I have seen.
Thoughts:
Is this book over the top? Yes.
Is it fun? Yes.
Is it unpredictable? Yes.
Do some of the events leave one shaking their head in disbelief? Yes.
Would i recommend it? Absolutely.
When the dust has settled after the first act, Remender has done a fine job of redeeming Cyclops in this fan's eyes. He also does a great job at giving the conflict/rivalry between the Avengers and X-Men a much more humanized reason than the silly mess that was AvX.
This book so far has been wall to wall action but it's the personal moments that have made it very good in my opinion.
I need your help and greatly appreciate any input (spoiler free of course) you can offer. These are both characters I don't have a great deal of familiarity with and I am considering purchasing them in trade.

AVENGERS #25 REVIEW
The Good:
This book plays off some of the happenings in New Avengers in a roundabout way. If you've been following that book then you're familiar with the incursions into other universes and how the Illuminati have been handling them. We get a taste of that here as an alternate group of Avengers is brought to our Earth by AIM. They aren't quite the friendly group of heroes we're accustomed to and there's one moment that got a good chuckle out of me.
There's an air of mystery as the fate of one of the alternate Avengers comes to a tragic conclusion. SHIELD is on site to investigate and our Earth's Avengers are primary suspects in this inter-dimensional murder mystery.
The art is by Salvador Larocca and it is very good. He's got a unique style all his own and he does a good job with this issue. His faces can be a bit funny at times but his work is always solid.
The Bad:
Marvel (and Hickman) are sure getting their mileage out of the AIM organization these days. They seem to be popping up in quite a few of the Avengers books and I hope we get a bit more diversity villain wise down the road. So far they've been pretty compelling antagonists for the Avengers I just don't want to see them overused.
The Score:
Hickman has the Avengers titles rolling these days. It seems like everything is tying together in some way and I can't wait to see how it all plays out. There's a definite link with the New Avengers title here and I'm hoping the the Illuminati's actions are brought to the forefront very soon.
Seriously, this guy is one of the most interesting villains in recent memory and one of my favorite characters in comics. There are a ton of heroes he'd make a great adversary for. In the past we've seen him clash with Wolverine, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, the Avengers, the Agents of Atlas and others and hold his own. He's at the top of the charts when it comes to fighting skill as he's mastered every fighting style known to man and even created some of his own. His battles with Wolverine were some of the toughest fights the ol' Canucklhead has ever endured. Marvel, BRING BACK MISTER X!
I'm a complete and utter fanboy of Grant Morrison. His recent modern work with the X-Men, Batman and Superman has been some of my all time favorite comic material. I think the guy is a genius and could turn around any struggling character or give life to a relatively unknown one.
Mrs. Fury and I have relocated to Raleigh, NC from Montgomery, AL! We arrived yesterday after a couple of days driving to see family before we left. I am excited, thrilled, terrified and anxious to see what the future holds for us. We are in the greater Raleigh area if anyone wants to give us a shout out!
Update:
We've been here since Saturday and we like it so far. There's much more to do compared to our old town of Montgomery. The weather has been crap so far but it's expected to get better later in the week.

If anyone has been reading the issues pertaining to these brothers on Krypton you may have noticed a pretty intense rivalry between the two. Not having much prior knowledge of them, I am wondering if it was like this pre=Flashpoint? Did they always have this rivalry going or were they much more amicable?
