ENIGMA: My pitch for an original Superhero Movie

Hey guys, it's me again. So, I've got a cool idea: an original superhero film. And here's my story for it.

Raymond Jonathan "R.J." Martin is a teenaged black boy whose parents disappeared when he was a child, and he was adopted by John and Leslie Martin, two white Christian outreach missionaries, and their daughter, Kendall, who is slightly older than RJ. As a child, RJ shows signs of superior intelligence and athleticism, and at age 12 is placed in a school for the gifted, where he meets his future best-friend, white kid named Darren Allman.

We now fast-forward to when RJ, who is 15 years old. His relationship with his parents isn't what it used to be. They love him and all, but he's been more lazy about his grades and they are concerned about him. One night, his parents leave on a mission trip, which is planned to be for a week, while Kendall goes to a friend's house for the night. RJ has never been allowed to go to parties due to his family's values, but he calls Darren and informs him that he'll be going to one after all. When Darren arrives, he notices the abundance of alcohol, drugs and deviancy, and begins to understand why his parents didn't want him to go. While hanging out with Darren, he begins to feel light-headed and tries to walk outside for some fresh air. On his way out, he passes out cold, and Darren calls an ambulance.

Over a month later, RJ wakes up in a hospital bed. He is informed by the doctors that his vitals were going crazy that whole time, and he flatlined several times, essentially dying and coming back to life several times during his coma. The doctors have no idea what happened to him, but have determined that he's now healthy enough to be released.

Over the course of the next day, RJ discovers that he has some sort of powers, all of which, including super-speed and strength, seem to have a connotation with kinetic energy. He also hears reports of a mysterious powered killer committing gruesome murders in the city. He realizes he's been given his powers for a reason, and goes after the killer, wearing a ski mask to conceal his identity.

RJ finds the killer due to a tip from a street criminal, and discovers that the killer is a mysterious man in a red mask and black hooded suit who calls himself "The Red Death". Red Death's powers give him the ability to literally suck someone's life force. RJ discovers that he is immune to Red Death's powers, and turns him in to the police after defeating him. The police then transfer Red Death, who is in fact a teenager, to the Department of Super-Human Affairs, who interrogate him. Red Death says that "The Professor" said that he'd cure his powers if he used them to kill certain people.

RJ tells Darren about his powers, and Darren helps design a costume for him. They use a silver-and-black hooded jumpsuit and a pair of goggles with blue lenses, which seem to help him focus his power, which manifests by glowing blue. Darren, who is ecstatic about being a "sidekick", sets up a matrix in his parents' basement which allows him to tap into security cameras and police scanners.

When RJ goes out to fight crime, he is captured by the Department of Super-Human Affairs, who arrest him for "taking justice into his own hands". While being interrogated, the director of the organization, Meryl Johns, informs RJ that they need his help to deal with some of the superhumans, which. as Johns says, all surfaced around the same time that he fell into his coma. In exchange for his help, they will keep his identity a secret from his friends and family.

RJ is assigned to attack a military base that Johns says is "being held hostage".
