@magian: I am curious to watch it and probably will, but I don't think he is doing himself any favors with that remark.

I was burned out from CV for a while.

The romance between Aang and Katara was decent but rather forced.

Sokka could have undergone more tangible development in a gradual manner instead of 2 episodes focusing on him over the span of 3 seasons.

Most of the antagonists, excluding Zuko or Iroh, were two-dimensional or caricatures rather than actual characters. That includes the Moon Slayer, Ozai, Azula and Jet.

Zaheer is a better villain than anyone in ATLA.

@entropy_aegis: so you’re mad because his movie has a target audience?

Unless his version is R or NC-17 rated then this is factually inaccurate.

Snyder also seems mad by calling an adult man "outside of the demographic", which does not even mean what he thinks it does.

I definitely enjoyed the trailer, but this will either be spectacular, or some average imitation of Se7en.

@magian: Tine is primarily defined by her obligations and her budding relationship with Gilgamesh, which in turn should help her grow as a person. That remains a work in progress even during the LN, though. Has Waver appeared yet? Richard isn't really a typical Saber, he's the type of man I could see befriending Iskandar, and he canonically admires him, too.

That is mostly on Narita, they have material but it would fizzle out after a couple of seasons, unless he picks up the pace.

I don't think anything pre-Camelot is comparable in terms of difficulty, it's difficult to explain until you see it on your own. Even first waves of fights require some patience to skillfully avoid taking serious hits before you progress to the second and third.

I have been keeping busy with MHA, reading Stephen King, the Stay Night VN and watching Battlestar Galactica. I already did Castlevania S3 a few weeks ago.

@magian: Correct! Ayaka is decent but she doesn't entertain nearly as much as Flat or Jester Karture. Richard is such a flamboyant character, though. Difficult not to like him. I'd say he is my favorite Saber along with Mordred and Bedivere.

Enkidu vs Gilgamesh is the most impressive fight of SF so far, Alcides vs Gil tends to simply hype you for the future more than anything else.

The fight(s) against Tiamat are fairly easy in Babylonia, you are so buffed by Ereshkigal and Merlin by that point that it's much more difficult to lose than it is to win. But it's painful till you get to that point.

The Apocrypha event should be underway soon so I will probably focus on that. I won't be starting the Lostbelt until I complete Salomon (which is mandatory for progression), and EOR. I went through Camelot and Babylonia so quickly that a break feels refreshing right now.

@magian: There is a character that falls more flat than others but she is still fairly enjoyable, especially her connection to her Servant - he is among my favorites, if not my favorite from his class out of all Fate works.

And yes, it's Gilgamesh vs Alcides. It is a twisted reflection of their UBW fight.

The Lahmus fight is feasibly winnable through raw damage and perseverance, using Mystic Eyes of Death Perception and Azrael just makes it faster. And it still took 20+ turns. The Lahmus have an absurdly low instant death rate (0.1% in that form), so you need the support King Hassan with his NP and his debuff to make it work - and it still failed another time. I haven't checked the death rate of ghosts in the hidden KnK quest but I suspect it must be much higher.

I finished Babylonia a couple of days ago.

@magian: Did I mention you have your HP depleted by 3K at the beginning of each turn? :P

But really, the Lahmus fight is indeed fun because you have external, unremovable buffs (that are immense, in damage, HP, critical ratio, healing). You can also use an NP5 King Hassan as the story support, so if you keep his NP gauge full he can perform an instant kill, I killed half of them with him and 2 more with Shiki's NP.

Babylonia repeats the full NP gauge mechanic, only you have 3 opponents doing it per turn. It's the Ushiwakamaru Alter clone fight from the anime. No buffs or help there.

I'm glad you are enjoying it, it is a very well written series, virtually all characters have their time to shine, which separates it from other works like Apocrypha. And I haven't often seen it mentioned, but Strange Fake has the complete reversal of a famous Gilgamesh fight from Stay Night, I think you'll spot it.

@magian: Gawain is the worst of the Knights to face, even though almost everyone has their own gimmick. For instance, one of them reverses class affinity, another has a full NP charge in every turn.

I would say that on average, Camelot had more difficult boss fights but Babylonia was all around more punishing, the Lahmus are particularly nasty since they all have a buff removal skill. There is a funny fight where you face 11 190K HP Bel Lahmus.

Good to see you appreciate the King in Strange Fake.

Don't make bait threads. You've added nothing to the discussion at all beyond some gifs.
