I don't see why people are raging on Marvel Comic sales when Marvel had 57 Comics make it within the top 100 last month versus DC which only had 43. Of which 9 were batman titles.
Overall him leaving doesn't matter at all. Batman is the only real profitable comic book DC has. The others do okay but not better than most Marvel Titles.
If you used Comic-chron for those numbers, it's mis-leading. Comic chron is only vendor to dealer. Not comics that folks buy. In that regard Marvel is slumping. There's plenty of youtube videos about how those numbers don't mean much. All those numbers show is that Marvel is flooding the Market. A better gauge is how many titles have been cancelled? I'm not sure DC has had to cancel any rebirth titles yet. if they have, it's very few. Marvel is doing well with the Star Wars line and that's about it. Don't think for a minute that Legacy is actually selling 275,000 copies a month. I will agree that Bendis leaving means little.
All the trailers have looked great! Not just good, but great. However, trailers count mostly on visuals and a few bits of dialogue and those have not been the DCEU's problems. The visuals have been very good and an aspect of their visuals even won an Oscar for SS. What the trailers can't assure us of is a good narrative flow and pacing. Those have been the DCEU's problems and we'll have to wait and see if WW has fixed that or not.
Late to the party..but. With all the 5 stars CV gives out..this was only a 4? I think Superman is the best title on my pull list right now and this was one of the better issues.
I've not read this series (I feel good about that) but, this is "comics dead"....plenty of DC/Marvel heroes "die". While this event does sound horrible, isn't it jumping the gun a bit to say "Banner is Dead" like it's permanent? Will he still be dead 1 year from now? 2 years?
