Could batman with prep actually beat the silver surfer?

If Silver Surfer were a DC character, I have a feeling there would be a story of Batman beating him with prep.

As it stands though, I do not think Batman could beat Silver Surfer based off of what he prepped with before.

I think Batman has beaten Superman purely because he has a large shiny green rock as a weakness. There's nothing quite so obvious about Silver Surfer so unless Batman's prep is getting out his phone book to call for help I'm not sure he can ever take him on.

New 52 Batman Issue 36 and Batman Issue 612 off the top of my head. Endgame and Hush storylines.

Batman never beat Superman in hush. It was made clear that Supes was desperately fighting off his mind control and Batman admitted that he could kill him without breaking a sweat. All he did was barely survive.

By endgame, are you talking about the time when he took on the league with his justice buster suit?. Superman was mind controlled, slower and would have won the fight if he hadn't wasted time gloating. Not really a victory, if you ask me

But if Batman lost, then Superman won, right? Because under that theory, if Superman won while being slower, mind controlled, etc, and Batman lost, then it would go to show that Batman is far inferior to Superman. No, Batman won regardless of circumstances. You could make the argument he even beat him in Tower of Babel via his own drawn up plans used by Ra's Al Ghul instead.

No, the fact that Superman decided to waste time gloating and making him beg while Batman spat some kryptonie gum in his eye, shows that he wasn't there to kill him. You could technically say Batman won, but that was due to Superman's mind controlled gloating, rather than Batman's beating him under his own merits.

It's been a while since I read TOB, but didn't his plan involve shooting him with a kryptonite bullet by catching him of guard?. I don't think that counts as a victory any more than knocking out Bruce Banner and claiming you beat the Hulk

Bats had a struggle beating Supes, the few times he did, and those were only due to Supes having a well-known weakness. And while Supes is pretty dang powerful, he's no where near a cosmic level. Not by a long shot.

SS wields the power cosmic itself, and has no well-known weaknesses. Because of this he makes characters like Supes look like D list superheroes at best.

If he makes Supes look D list, Bats ain't got nothing that comes close to being able to beat SS. Not by a long shot...

You've never actually read the comic that happens in have you? SS let Panther do that to draw him into a false sense of security to get information out of him.

Surfer would slaughter Panther effortlessly if he wanted and he'd do the same to Batman, with or without prep.

Alone? No, he can't. Preparation is critically dependent on available information and there simply is no data on Silver Surfer in that scenario. Human technology that Bruce relies on would be completely useless here. His best shot is to reach for the Green Lantern Corps ASAP and that is not exactly prep.

1) there exists tech that can absorb power cosmic

2) batman is good at stealing

3) batman steals the tech

4) batman makes a plan where silver surfer falls into a trap involving that tech

The key issue is the very first step. Batman had many past feats involving the rest of the steps so these steps should be considered legit for Batman. It is only questionable whether such tech exists in the DC universe but given we are talking about a shared universe fight so I assume Batman can use tech from Marvel too.

@kgb725: firstly stealing does not need reverse engineering skills and secondly Batman is not going to steal just the plans or blueprints he would steal the tech and just enough information necessary to assemble something to defeat Silver Surfer. E.g.: Do I need to need to know how to build a computer from just scraps to know how to write software? Obviously no.

in dark nights comics event, Superman wondered why JL members thought Batman can beat superman one-on-one. Supes can rip batman in half, and with just a glare from Supes Batman would die. and yes, Batman's arm definitely got blasted by Supes iirc. "Don't you realize how weak you are all to me?"

of course, right after that Batman just pulled out Doomsday virus to turn himself into Doomsday and proceed to beat out the crap of superfamily :p . but this Doomsday is all about brute force, he can't even fly, so he'd lose to surfer.

another is New God batman. but I'm pretty sure he can't access mobius chair anymore. even then it only grants teleportation and cosmic awareness. so he loses to surfer, again.
