The Cards are just right
This review has SPOILERS so look out for that. I'm reviewing all the villain month issues to give the new reader perspective but honestly I don't think that counts here. Riddler's always been my a favorite Batman villain and that's a big factor for me when it comes to this issue.
The Good: Just about everything. Riddler is portrayed fantastically, he's as arrogant as he is intelligent, and as dangerous as he is insane. This issue gets Riddler's specific type of insanity perfectly. It also does what few other comics have done and portrays Riddler as a legitimate threat. Unlike most other villains in their Villain month issues Riddler doesn't fight random thugs, instead he take on Wayne's best security and proves why he's a intellectual match for Batman while proving why you really don't want to be a normal person caught up in his plans. The writing and pacing for this issue are perfect, it all feels like a great witty plot that plays out almost precisely as the Riddler intended.
The Bad:
I'm kind of at a loss here, I really can't think of any problems with this issue. I suppose the fact that it doesn't seem to tell the whole story is kind of disappointing.
Overall:
Loved this issue, adore it, just felt it was fantastic. If you're a Batman fan you should read this. If you're a Riddler fan you owe it to yourself to read this. Best Villain Month issue I've read so far.
