Original report:

Marvel is know to occasionally release cryptic teasers. We've seen promos for the upcoming "Secret Empire," and it's was a safe bet it was related to Captain America because of his HYDRA connection and the shield in the text.

Marvel just gave us an exclusive teaser, and we're not quite sure what it means.

How are the X-Men going to be involved in this? Marvel hasn't given us any other information.

Yesterday they released the following teaser:

I'm so over the cryptic shit. Just annouce the event all at once, nothing is gained by just drip drip dripping the info. Also, Marvel could learn a thing or two from the way DC is doing events now. Small, mostly self contained, done in a month/month and a half. Oh, and not having heroes fight each other, every. Damn. Time.

@kevinwalsh: Event fatigue aside as a valid argument. People here like almost all of the forums on the internet are too outrageous in their outrage. It has to be really bad having Marvel holding you all at gun point and forcing you to buy this event (which we know close to nothing about yet) or risk having Cap leave a horse's head in your bed.

Another convoluted event. I give up. Nobody in that damned Marvel office is listening.

P.s...that promo art is shamefully awful. Shame, Marvel. Shame. They all look like bitmojis.

The first pic state "united we stand"

Why Marvel? You are freaking about 0-2 issues in different runs into "divided we stand" so why doing this? It is to freaking soon

The comic vine community is just so receptive. Really open and never judgmental when a new comic series is teased or announced.

I think most here are just tired of all the events following each other without them completing not one but two events as of now. Also I think most of the sales Marvel is making are probably not from people commenting.

Not that I will be reading this (because I typically do not want events and hope they stop making them) and I understand CV and comic fans in general are fairly negative, but man, the negativity in here is way over the normal levels. Maybe you'll all finally stop buying these and send the message they will actually get ($$$) because I assure you, the Marvel executives aren't reading your comments.

Lmfao. Same whiners whining over an Event comic they don't supposedly care about but still manage to post in threads about said Event comic. 90% of you crybabies will buy this series so do everyone a favor and stop buying them if you want to show Marvel you are sick of them.

Marvel is horrible at listening to fan feedback.

Slow down with the damn events...

We just finished one terrible event, we barely started another one, we got introduced to a new one that will start in a month or two and now we get teased by yet another event.

Take a freaking breather.

Considering DC is stomping Marvel in the sales currently, that's exactly what the people are doing. Now instead of creating this ironic ouroboros where people always whine about other people whining and it goes in circles endlessly, you show those people how you're the bigger man/woman and move on from those said "whiners".

@atheistknowledge: Agree with your message about taking the high road.

But DC was on top of sales for 4 months June through September then Marvel has been on top again since October and December's numbers just came out and Marvel is again ahead of DC on unit market share (can be messed with and both DC "returnability" and Marvel "overshipping" do) and also in Dollar market share. Now Dollar market share can't be played with and in that Marvel is ahead

DC ENTERTAINMENT29.47%

So i think people are loving Rebirth as they should but it's not at the expense of Marvel right now.

Marvel Comics needs to be buried in the same hole that Atari's "ET" cartridges are consigned. I have'nt bought a comic in well over a decade, and this is the reason why. Un-orignal, hamfisted, hacks, posing as writers and editors. Jack Kirby is petitioning God right now to come back to earth.

So glad Spidey is at the front..........and so disappointed Rocket is there, stop shoehorning the GOTG into earth events.

Yeah, I've been trying to figure what on Earth would get these nine disparate characters together ever since I saw that god awful promo pic. Rocket hates Earth to his guts, Wolverine has no reason be chummy with Blackbolt, Blackbolt has no reason to get mixed up with this, Spider-man is there because his heroic in general and Cap, Cap Marvel and Black widow are Avengers and I guess so is Deadpool...

Oh well. crap is crap. I guess or at least the art is 100% crap. Can't say anything about writing yet but it isn't looking good.

I haven't bought an event since Secret Wars. Seeing this art? This may be a new low for Marvel. Pointless repetitive action from CW2, idiotic fighting from genocidal people thinking they're heroes in IvX, and now shit art? Wouldn't be surprised if the story is bad and pointless.

What this Secret Empire i about? Well, my realy simple gues it that:

Captain Hydra is up to eliminate everyone (on that picture and their associates) and everything that could be either threat to his agenda or unwanted competition (coughCarrol Danvers aka. Captain Fascist, coughBlack Bolt and Inhuman scum, cough cough).

But i have feeling that read deal will NOT gonna be that easy:(

Ps. Marvel should realy rename Captain America: Steve Rogers title (and character) into: Captain Hydra. Realy, that thing in it isnt Captain America and/or definitlelly NOT Steve Rogers.

That's what I was going to say too. It's pretty bad.

That's the worst Blackbolt I've ever seen, and Carol looks like Mother Russia from Kick-Ass 2, with even more forehead.

I wouldn't say better, although I like him more and his comic isn't boring like the current Amazing Spider-Man comics are.

I didn't partake in civil war II, i knew it was just another cash grab. I only grabbed 2 of the side titles.

As far as these secret empire teases go,it's probably another lame event teased til til the summer event starts.

We currently have Inhumans vs X-men, clone conspiracy and monsters unleashed is starting very soon. Do they really need another event this soon ????

What I don't get is people complain about garbage events, but they keep buying. Either pirate the sht out of it (normally I would obviously not recommend this, but dumb events deserve this) or just don't read it.

I'm guessing the ones who buy it are not as vocal, or the types who don't frequent message boards. I have not followed a Marvel event in a long time. I think the last one I followed was Secret Wars, but I kind of had to do that to understand what was going to happen. Before that was Age of Ultron, and before that I think was World War Hulk.

I avoid events, but then the event runs through a book I read like Spider-man or Ms. Marvel, and I'm forced to either skip my regular books for a while to avoid the event, or read it and be confused. It kind of breaks the flow of the series. It's not always the issue of having to buy it, it's that it's interrupting other series.

@moogman13: Oh yeah Marvel is on full events lalaplooza and it can and does destroy the momentum on many books with stupid tie-ins. CW2 is guilty of that.

Many writers don't know how to approach it but some are better at it than others. Bendis on Spider-man just didn't make it work but Duggan made fun of it in Deadpool, Ewing explained the whole concept better than Bendis did in his event (sadly). Spencer had an awesome tie-in with Cap Steve Rogers sneaky behind the scenes work.

The best one was Wilson on Ms. Marvel. Those tie ins are one of the best books i read last year especially the high school science competition between Miles and Kamala. Wilson is a great writer.

But i digress, those are more of the minority. Many tie-ins can be very much crap with events.

Anyway I hope this event is good as i'm enjoying the main series by Spencer and i hope the tie-ins are kept to a minimum.

This writing is like Hello Giggles. Very shitty writing this article. I'm not impressed by the staff. Understand my thing. U can do better, men at ur job.

@heavyone Maybe Professor X gets resurrected here. Empire is connected to his Illuminati group. Villains, like Zemo are involved. A blast will occur.
