@cheesesticks: Yea, that retro Beast is a little awkward looking.

Is that Colossus in the Lee Bermejo piece? or is it Cable? It looks like Colossus in costume and in the entire body, but his face looks a bit more like Cable and has a similar scare on his eye. Awesome art work but would like it even better if it were Colossus. I also like the Frank Cho X-23 art, it looks pretty cool.

It's an interesting new concept, but I don't know if it does it for me. It look like a new idea and could be cool. I'll hold my final verdict till after is see more of the comic.

I wish people wouldn't jump to "racist" comments so quickly. Not everything has a racist undertone folks. Yes, there are a lot of stereotypes floating around out there, but I don't think they are necessarily all racists. They are being applied to a fictional character for many of reason other than someone is being racist. Come on people.

@crackdown: I think they know what they are doing and it will turn out better that most people may think. People just have to realize that Marvel movies aren't the dark doom and gloom movies that DC has done so well. The mix of comedy works the best for Marvel and for the general audience.

@kingwillie: Yea, I wanna read up on them more now. I'm sure between now and the time it comes out I can catch up on the current series and maybe some of the older series. Ready for the movie!

I think it goes along with their game plan. They are trying to make it appealing to the general audience rather than just the comic fan base. What better way to draw in people that know nothing about the source material than give them something to laugh at and looks packed with action. I'm sure they will give us a better trailer in another month or so. Fingers crossed though.

Interesting, wasn't sure how it was going to look on the big screen. Still apprehensive that its not gonna go over well. Might be too much of a comedy, but still pumped to see it. Winter Solider is up first though.

The group I find most unbearable is the over the top Batverse fans. The ones that believe that that everything in the Batman world is far superior to everything else. He is a great character and one of the most recognizable comic characters ever, but I think they have built him up so much that he seems invincible. I have my favorite characters, but I don't think they out do every other character out there. I have nothing against those who like Batman and it's universe, as long as they can be somewhat realistic in their views. Of course this goes for any fan base that has the same mentality, I just see more of it involved with Batman. Sorry but I don't think "Batman always wins".

These look pretty awesome. I have a question though:

Are these going to be new reader friendly?

I don't have any experience with Valiant, but these look like they could draw me in. However, if it brings me in to something I have no clue as to what is going on it would be very off putting and make me not want to pick them up. Anybody have a clue as to if these are just spawning off of what is already going on in Valiant or if these will be for new readers as well?

When it comes to Reboots they can be hits or misses. Generally they get the reboot treatment because their predicessor didn't meet the mark. To come to my conclusion and choice I went through a few questions to my self.

1.) Which movies would I be comparing?

The Amazing Spider-Man VS Spider-Man (Sam Raimi)

Batman Begins VS Batman (Tim Burton)

Captain America: The First Avenger VS Captain America (1990)

Dredd VS Judge Dredd (1995; Staring Sylvester Stallone)

Fantastic Four VS The Fantastic Four (1994)

The Incredible Hulk VS Hulk (2003; Ang Lee)

Man of Steel VS Superman (1978; Christopher Reeve)

The Punisher VS The Punisher (1989; Dolph Lundgren)

Punisher: War Zone VS The Punisher (2004; Thomas Jane)

Transformers VS The Transformers: The Movie (1986; Animated Movie)

2.) Are there any of the match ups so one sided that I might as well not even remember there was a something to reboot?

Fantastic Four VS The Fantastic Four (1994) - I couldn't really give this my vote for being my favorite reboot because there really was not that much to reboot. It was not a good movie IMO. It is actually more of a movie I wish I could forget. There really was not anywhere to go but up from the 1994 version. It's hard to get past those plastic looking suits they wore.

Captain America: The First Avenger VS Captain America (1990) - This movie falls into the same boat and the above title. It just didn't not hold up well and definatly did not get any better with time. It is really hard to go back and even sit through it with wondering what those involved were thinking.

3.) Are any of the match ups too close to call because the first one is really good?

Batman Begins VS Batman (Tim Burton) - I can say that this match up was a tough one for me because I loved the Tim Burton version of Batman. So labeling this as my favorite reboot is hard to say. In this instant I would actually lean a little more towards the original version, but will say that Batman Begins lead into the more successful run of movies. Begins did lead to my favorite Batman installment The Dark Knight, but Batman lead into Batman Return with is another top choice for me. So for me I can't really say that Batman Begins is my favorite reboot.

Man of Steel VS Superman (1978; Christopher Reeve) - With there being such a gap in between these movies it is hard to really compare them. They both have qualities and feature that make them great movies. However, anytime I think of a cinematic version of Superman my first image is of Christopher Reeve. He is the iconic Superman and a top notch one at that. Putting Man of Steel up against it should be a fair fight for MOS, but Superman throws punches right back. Not to mention that were some things I had issue with in MOS. So really I wouldn't put it over the original Superman that much if any.

The Amazing Spider-Man VS Spider-Man (Sam Raimi) - I really like both Spider-man movies. They both brought their own flair and style to the big screen and each had something for me to like about them. I don't think one far superior over the other. I do kinda prefer a lot of the stuff in Amazing Spider-Man, but I wouldn't overlook what Spider-man brought to the table either. I think that Amazing Spider-Man had a lot to live up to trying to out do the first Spider-Man. It was a tall order that it did accomplish slightly. It's hard say that it was by favorite reboot because I really like both version and wouldn't dismiss the first one.

Punisher: War Zone VS The Punisher (2004; Thomas Jane) - This is another tough match up for me. On some levels War Zone brought that grittiness and violence that the comic version is so well known for. It brought the blood and lots of it. However, I think that The Punisher out did it plot and story wise. I know that when you get right down to it that Punisher isn't always a overly complex character and that he kills the bad guys of the world in most instances, but for a venture out into the big screen I enjoyed the story line in The Punisher. So really both movies gave me something I really wanted from a Punisher movie. If only you could take both movies and blend them together and you'd get one near perfect Punisher movie. I would have to go a bit towards The Punisher in this face off so I can't say that War Zone is my favorite reboot of the list basically because I would have rather seen a sequel rather than another reboot.

4.) Are there any of them that I just don't know enough about to really give a definitive answer?

Transformers VS The Transformers: The Movie (1986; Animated Movie) - I can not really say about the Transformer verse. I have watched the live action movies and some of the cartoon series, but for me it's hard to translate the live action movie as the reboot to the cartoon. Plus I sadly have not see the animated movie so I can't really put my two cents worth into it. So since I can not really compare the version I will have to leave this off of my favorite position. Sorry Transformer fans.

5.) What are my top three choices?

Dredd VS Judge Dredd (1995; Staring Sylvester Stallone) - The original Judge Dredd movie has always been kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. I loved the movie when it came out. I had the toys and video game to go with it, but didn't really understand that it was a comic based movie for some time. I just thought it was a cool action movie. After branching out into different publishers in the comic world I learned more about the creation of Judge Dredd. When I found out they were doing the new one I was stoked about it. For me it was a great movie and what I think could be the start of a new franchise if they so chose. I think it followed a lot more of what I learned from the comics. It just did the comic a bit more justice IMO. A great movie reboot.

The Incredible Hulk VS Hulk (2003; Ang Lee) - In this cases above I believe that it could easily be a landslide victory, but I think they did such a good job of turning it around so quickly that it finished in the top three. Even though there were only a few years in between the two movies there just seemed to be a major leap in quality IMO. For one the CG of the Hulk was much better in The Incredible Hulk. It was nice to have a more realistic looking Hulk over the green Popsicle version. I also believe that the casting and plot was much better in. There were just some things in the Hulk movie that just didn't click with me. I truely believe that Norton was a much better fit to the role over Bana. One thing that leaned more towards Hulk was one particular casting choice in Sam Elliot for General Ross. I did like that choice, but it was not near enough to over look other flaws. Of all the match ups listed that was the quickest turn around and I think they put out a Hulk movie that many are proud of. Although it would be nice to get a new hulk movie with Ruffalo in it.

The Punisher VS The Punisher (1989; Dolph Lundgren) - The Dolph Lundgren version was not the greatest movie by far, but I think it did have some promising elements to it. Not only that, but I think that it was more successful that some of the movies that followed, such as Fantastic Four and Captain America. When I was The Punisher it just felt like it came full circle. A really good action movie with what I thought was great plot movement. Thomas Jane is my Punisher from the cinematic world. He just fits what I imagine the Punisher to really be. I know there were flaws with the movie, but for me it's in the top 10 on my list.

6.) Who is my winner?

DREDD

@jedixman: I understand that, however from all the pictures and footage that has been released the future wolverine has his adamantium claws instead of bone claws. His future version will somehow get it back, but it hasn't been said how yet. Singer has only hinted at what is going to happen, but nothing solid yet.
