@motm: she used the same maneuver to cut the car and statue as she did to block DD's punch so you obviously don't know the difference between offensive and defensive maneuvers.
Her lasso is not as long as Spiderman's webbing so it can't go around his legs as many times needed to actually trip him. Plus, if she did try that she'd be anchored in one spot easily allowing Giant-Man to grab her and crush her.
Doesn't she gain more focus with her senses sped up? That's what allows her to see bullets in slow motion, so I don't see why lowering her perception just to look at a time bomb would be of any extra help. Unless you're suggesting she has to go out of super speed to focus properly. Doesn't make sense either way.
Diana can't topple something as big as Giant-Man with one hand. Now you're just making things up. No need to lie to make your fictional character of choice win a battle.
He's beyond Diana because he doesn't need to block bullets with a shield or bracers. He was taking exploding rounds from Rhodes without any damage. She had to block WWI era weaponry. Scott can no-sell modern, high tech weaponry.
She stops at 2
No he wasn't taking anything, actually the missiles exploded in front of him, not on him.
@motm: she brought her sword up and hit his fist. The exact same move used to cut the car, the statue and his arm. I guess her sword only cuts what the writers want it to cut.
Because he has greater leverage than she does if she tries that maneuver. He could easily lift her off the ground quicker than she could pull him down to it. Although it wouldn't surprise me to see her try that since she's not too smart when using her abilities.
So does her super speed only work on things that she's looking at? If she's focused on the bomb does that mean everything else moves at normal speeds? That's a terrible use of super speed. But it does explain why she got hit by a normal human with normal human speed. Her super speed is ineffective here.
She can't beat him because she's never fought someone his size before. Her sword is a needle to him and won't cause any significant damage.
He could easily crush her or break her neck once he gets a hold of her. She can't do the same to him though. It's ok though, MCU characters are just shown to be stronger than the DCEU ones.
She stops at 2
Put a needle in your eyes, will see how well you fare loool
How can he tag her? He failed to catch Black Panther who is far slower than Diana,. He only grabed War Machine because he surprised him by growing, Rhodey wasn't expecting that.
Crush her? Ares tried and she saw fast enough to get away. Giant Man is just to slow.
Wonder Woman has so many ways to defeat Giant Man.
She can cut his Achilles' tendon or use her aegis effect on his legs, and make him fall,. She can pierce his testicles (yeah), she can pierce his eyes, she can use the bracelet/shield combo on his head and crush it. And of course use the lasso.
Hi guys, I posted this on another forum, i am also posting it here.
So I came back from the movie about an hour ago and took my time to read this thread. I am as pissed as most people here about Wonder Woman's fighting prowess and overall power level.
Now, how can we voice our concerns to WB? How can we let them know that we are not that pleased and that we want some changes? Just talking about it on forums is certainly not enough. If it was Superman or Batman I can tell you that the execs would have already been submerged with complaints.
I think we should ask them to:
1 - Have a consistent power level (it looked like that she forgot aout her super speed while fighting SW), and be a real powerhouse.
2 - Be more than a sword woman, but also be the best hand to hand fighter with punches, kicks and basically every moves an MMA fighter would do.
Now is the time, she is more popular than ever, she is about to become the face of the DCEU, her next movie is still in pre production. With JL flopping I think the studio will hear us if we voice our concerns in an efficient way.
What do you guys think? Do you know any way we could organize ourselves to make it happen?
PS: While I think she is indeed the leader of the team, I wish she showcased her leadership like Captain America did in Avengers, just saying "On my lead" is really poor IMHO
Hi. I really like this idea. I think the way to do it is start a petition on it. However I don't think this should be a pile on. This movie was a fun movie. As much as I don't like Superman's power level the way they did it, I think this may be the best Superman I've seen on screen or maybe just a notch beneath Chris Reeves. Flash was excellent. I even liked Cyborg and Aquaman who I've been a long time hater of. Quite frankly the critics are wrong about this movie.
Also Gal did her thing. She was sometimes lumbered with some BS moments, but all in all I think Gal was great in this movie, especially with what they were going for with her being the compassionate leader. So I think we should start our petition with something warm and encouraging.
Then I think we should take moments from the film and explain clearly and without malice why it bothered us. I think we should say we understood what they were doing (i.e. trying to make up for how badly superman has been treated) and also trying to inject humor and light heartedness into the film, but inadvertently they both nerfed WW's power and especially her combat prowess, and also some of the humor directed at WW objectified her.
I think we should mention how this affected our perception of her as being a respected team mate and leader.
I think we should praise Gal for her performance and Patty for what she achieved in her Wonder Woman movie and thank WB for giving us a true inspirational character in that movie, and let them know why it is so important to respect the integrity of the character.
Lastly I think we should mention why it was a commercial mistake to go this direction as well. Let them know this should have been their Hulk VS Thor moment and that they squandered it and give them examples from the comics of why this battle between a Warrior and a powerhouse should have been much more epic and would have ultimately raised the critical perception of the movie.
And I don't know about you but I was fine with Wonder Woman losing for Superman's grand comeback, but it would have been cool to see Wonder Woman really give Supes a run for his money, completely unarmed because she didn't want to kill him.
Images we can use as examples of how epic this should have been:
I think approaching it like this and maybe doing a podcast to support it so we don't come across like Feminazis (I hate this term) for want of a better phrase, would be the best way to get are point across.
Hey,
I like what you've said, we should not come off as whinny and butthurted, and let them know what we did like about the film, but make it clear that we want a better portrayal of WW.
I tried to see if I could create a change.org petition, but for some reasons I don't know, I can't create an english petition from my country. Who would create it?
We should gather, and wrtie that petition and post it on as many forums as possible. The sooner the better, while everything is stile fresh in peoples mind.
