Female copy/pasted character designs are outrageous
When asked about his process for drawing female characters, Oda wrote " Yes. Hello. It's drawing time at the SBS segment. I would suggest that you think of a woman's proportions as "three circles, one X". Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be leaving." This is a great start because it shows what his female characters main roles are in the story; to be fan service. It's no secret that after the timeskip, Nami and Robin (who were both already done with puberty) somehow went through puberty again and grew huge breast. They all look the same. What is this? Star Wars: The Clone Wars?
Nami and her dream? Scrapped
Nami's dream is to draw a map of the world. You'd think Oda would have a panel of her drawing a map at the end of each arc to show us that she's actively fulfilling her dream but you'd be wrong. The whole point of her traveling with the Strawhats is to help her friends achieve their goals and to achieve her own. So, instead of showing Nami actively achieving her goals, Oda simply writes about it in an SBS "Of course she is. Her routine every day is to draw maps after dinner. As the story progresses during the day, she has to give sailing instructions as the navigator, so there's a lot she has to do out on the deck." All we need is one tiny tiny panel at the end of each arc showing Nami adding Islands and locations to her map but her dreams don't matter.
Idiotic power ups out of nowhere
Luffys Powers are random, stupid and look like junk. When he started out, Luffy was nothing but a determinated pirate with his Gomu Gomu power. A simple, yet effective power which lead to some of the most creative and most badass attacks ever. He defeated his first big enemies (Buggy, Bureguard, Don Krieg, Arlong,...) by using his Devil Fruit for something new and innovative each time. Being able to stretch out body parts isn't exactly the coolest power to begin with, but man, did they run with it. That feeling of impending greatness when Luffy had shit stretched out to an extreme level and his attack was rushing towards an enemy... hell yes. GOMU GOMU NOOOOOOOOOO..............!!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOMM BAZOOKAAAAAA OR SOMETHIN Now what do you got? Shit went downhill when they introduced Gear 2nd. I guess I can't hate too much on that one since all that steam and his attacks looked pretty neat (except for the guy turning PINK), but Gear 3rd was the first step towards Luffys fighting turning stupid. Those huge limbs look are so damn goofy looking and just not cool at all. They don't match his other abilities whatsoever, especially now that he can harden his body parts using Haki or some unnecessary idiocy like that. Seriously, the only thing looking dumber than Luffy blowing his arms to huge, stupid looking ball is when he combines this idiocy with the Haki Harden Hayabusa Hidiho bullshit. It makes his fights awful to watch – not to mention his fights have sucked for a long time now for a variety of reasons. Oh, and that Gear 4th they new introduced looks hilariously awful as well. Just what? And dont even get me started on Luffy being a carefree moron even after all that traumtic event happened to him.
Zoro's goal of becoming the greatest swordsman is futile
The way you become the best swordsman in the OP world is to do what Mihawk does and travel around the world fighting swordsmen. Zoro has rarely fought any swordsmen post time skip; he had a little skirmish with Fujitora, he had a fight with killer who's kind of a swordsmen, he "fought" Hyouzou and that's about it. We were shown how you become the world's greatest swordsmen through Mihawk yet Zoro never has actual, life and death sword duels with swordsmen anymore. How can I take him wanting to become the best at his craft serious when he never challenges others who are on a similar level or stronger than he is at said craft? Even in Wano, a land filled to the brim with samurai, Zoro never actually fights any of them. If I'm leaving out any fights Zoro has has had with any actual swordsmen post time skip, please let me know in the comment section.
The worst cast ever and Sanji is incestuous
The crews dreams don't matter anymore. Rememeber that awesome scene when each member of the Strawhat Crew took a vow to fight for their dream? When having a dream actually mattered? Let's see what has become of their ambitions: Luffy – there hasn't been anything regarding his dream happening, except for him yelling „I'm the one who will be king of the pirates!“ from time to time. Zoro – Well he has to defeat Hawkeye to become the greatest swordsman, right? So uh, yeah, i dunno. He probably still wants to? Nami – She wanted to draw a map of the Grand Line but she hasnt done much shit about it, ever. Guess she fucked up on that one. Usopp – WORST EXAMPLE. His dream was to become a fearless warrior of the seas but hasnt he already killed like 100 fishmen enemies in that one battle scene on Fishmen Island, using ridiculous fighting tech in a badass way? Hasnt he actually achieved his dream already? Sanji – his dream was to find the All Blue. At least thats what he said before he decided to not give a single crap about it ever again. i could go on. And speaking of Sanji... Sanji is a joke. Now Sanji was around when they introduced him, now they exaggerated his dumb Ladies Man gimmick to such an extreme that its impossible to take him seriously. In the Fishmen Arc he nearly died and in Dressrosa he just gets his back kicked by Violet because corny crap women are awesome bla. It's ridiculous. I know he always had a soft spot for hot females, but there is a way to make that thing clear without turning this once amazing fighting machine into a laughing stock. He wasnt that much of a dork in the first couple arcs. Also, his fighting technique where his leg is on fire, Diable Jambe, is idiotic. What kind of random, nonsensical, unnecessary character is that? Sanji was also described to be incestuous and tried to approach her sister in despicable ways. A Mangaka should never support such vile attitudes, specially when your manga is targeted to entertain children. In a serious country that I think is not Japan, supporting incest and depicting it on books is a criminal offence.
Chopper is a useless mascot
Chopper has always been cute but would transform into a more serious form when using his transformations. Now, Chopper is just cute. Even his transformations are just adorable. The pre timeskip joke was the world government treating him as the Strawhats pet but now he actually feels like the Strawhats pet. His original personality has been replaced with a cute, cuddly, "kawaii" persona. Oda also doesn't really focus on his dream of curing every sickness in the world, he simply gives him people to treat each arc which is better than some of the other SH's. It'd be nice if we saw Chopper in his lab each arc working on actual medicine that can cure all illnesses but we never do.
Usopp repeats character development each arc
Usopp's character development each arc is the same. He's afraid of going to an island, he gets into dangerous situations on said Island, he pussies out, he commits an act of bravery then he repeats this process in the next arc. Are we still supposed to believe Usopp is a coward at this point? He stood up against the world government, he regularly fights enemies many times stronger than he is, he trained on a dangerous Island for two years and he travels with notorious pirates on a daily basis. I get the irony of it but it's still redundant which is another issue with the story as a whole.
Recycled plots, Pirates of Caribbean and Wano is an insult for Japan History
Almost every arc has the same structure. Luffy and crew goes to an Island, that Island's residents are oppressed by a king or ruler (Kaido, Doflamingo, Arlong, Crocodile, Big Mom, Enel, etc), Luffy vows to take down the big bad, Luffy fights the big bad and loses, Luffy gets separated from the crew, the crew has their fights with the Big Bad's minions, Luffy comes back into the story then ultimately defeats the big bad or at least wins a victory somehow. Very few arcs go outside of this general formula and it becomes repetitive after 900 chapters.
It's not wrong saying Oda copied his opera from the Dysney successful movie series "Pirates of Caribbean", violating Copyrights not one but hundreds of times. Just because he lacks of imagination. Now let me talk about Wano. Worst possible arc I have ever read. Not only it's the reason why One Piece of Caribbean is falling in popularity and forced Oda to rush the end of this vile manga, but it is a satire of Edo Period and modern Japan. That's why every single japanese person hates it.

Meanwhile Fairy Tail sales are reaching almost 3 million sold copies each volume and you know what? This happened right when Oda start screwing around the origins of every japanese person on the world, mixing gag pirates with disgusting insults against Shogun and Tokugawa genealogy. Inform yourself. Oda copied Mashima. Not only the characters are the same with a different name, but also the situations. Oda even called Luffy 'Lucy' during Dressrosa because he was afraid about Mashima's success and he tried to get the same amount of love Fairy Tail was getting.
