300 was a remarkable movie.  It seemed that it just came out of nowhere.  There's been talk before about a sequel that would take place during the original story. Zack Snyder gave an update on the status of the movie.

I know for a fact that Frank [Miller] is writing right now. [He's] drawing away and seems to be knee-deep in it.

I think we would use the same technology... I don't want it to look too Star Wars-ian... Just from what [Miller] told me, it would be bigger as far as landscape and terrain. We're going to see Athens and the Aegean and other places. There would be an opportunity for bigger visions, though I'd hope for the same aesthetic.

I'd never read Miller's 300. I thought the movie was excellent.
I'm just not sure about the whole, I'm writing this next comic book specifically as a movie script. Kind of a different vision from the original...There's a big enough gap between success and failure there. 

I trust Frank Miller with Frank Miller Stories but never with someone elses.

I liked the Sprit.

I think that doing a sequel to 300 is a bad, bad idea.  The original work was great and should be left to stand on its own for what it was, that being a reasonable, though strange adaption of the sacrifice made by the Greeks at Thermopylae.

Would it have Leonidas?  Let's be honest, Gerard Butler made that movie as much as anything else did.  Is anyone really going to care about a story that takes place outside of that battle?

Unless it's about the rest of the war I don't see it having any relevance unless he pulls some creative licensing and the gods bring the 300 warriors back. OH! Zombie Spartans!

I hope then...I hope that this is going to be a movie so awesome,historians will purposely re-write history just to make it half as cool as this movie.
