When I first started reading this series I was willing to give it a chance, and really from the first issue it appeared as though it really had all the pieces to make something work, just that it needed to move those pieces in the right direction. The first few issues sort of toyed with this idea of going somewhere, but then in the last issue the ball was dropped somewhat. In this issue however the ball was not just dropped but seemingly more like thrown to the ground. The action here is completely not engaging and while I generally don't like to pick on the artwork of most comics when Condor shows up in the modified form it looked like something a 5 year old might have drawn. The dialogue was so forced as well, almost painfully so. At one point the characters are kind of talking to the reader but then they intone that the reader would not know who Deadman is for some reason. Even with all of that I was even going to give this issue a higher rating until i got to the last page. I won't give away what happened, but it is some of the most hackneyed and forced writing I have seen in a comic, sort of like an event that should get summarized in about 3 or 4 issues gets resolved in three panels with two of the three characters involved acting not so much out of character, but just completely inhuman. So, the downward momentum of this series is evident here, and really at this point cannot be stopped.
