Best Action Movie Decade?
" @Sidney: Movies these days have no substance. "
Except for Sci Fi/Comic Books
Anyways i'd say the 80s...
@Aronmorales said:No, the original." ...Now I wanna watch Street fighter... "The Street Fighter film that came out this year? "
" Cannot wait for Machete.......And hopefully he makes that Thanksgiving Day movie that was a trailor in the Grindhouse films. "That's gonna be a real movie?
AWESOME!
" @Aronmorales said:Around but I wasn't sure if the rumors were true." @Sidney said:Yeah were you been? "" Cannot wait for Machete.......And hopefully he makes that Thanksgiving Day movie that was a trailor in the Grindhouse films. "That's gonna be a real movie? AWESOME! "
Everybody Knows it's the 90's, anyone remember a little movie called The Rock, How about Heat, that do anything for ya, Yawnnnn oh yeah and theres always Terminator 2. Also I'm going to close out with The Matrix. There are about a billion more that I'm sure I'll have to name off when people try and say Tango and Cash was a good action movie. Look into your Heart and you'll know that I'm right.
let's also not forgot aboutCon Air, Independence Day, Face Off, True Lies, Demolition Man, Last Action Hero, Rush Hour, Men In Black, Desperado, Tombstone, Armageddon, Last Boy Scout, Die Hard 2 and 3, Broken Arrow, Goldeneye, Payback, Brave Heart, Saving Private Ryan, and JurASSIC f'ing PARK Should I go on, 90's hands down
"Everybody Knows it's the 90's, anyone remember a little movie called The Rock...Lets not bring Michael Bay into this, he raped my childhood.
Even the low budget action films were getting a lot of love in the 80s and 90s.
Also, a lot of good action films had this fanfare at the beginning of them.
If anybody used to watch Rambo, Universal Soldier, Terminator 2, and Robocop back in the day, you knew this Carolco fanfare used to get you hyped up! LOL.

Don't lie, George Lucas brought you explosions in space.
Yeah but at the time the remade versions hadn't come out yet and his explosions in space sounded like glitter crashing into a pillow factory compared to Bay's epic Explosions that sounded like a Monster Truck Rally factory was rigged with 300 tons of dynamite" @Tyler Starke said:

If it's the sound you liked so much, I'm willing to bet that most of the guys who worked on Armageddon were former (if not current) Skywalker Sound employees. So, you still have Lucas to thank.
EDIT: Explosions are the only thing that Bay does well... otherwise it's all SH!T.

lol purely speculation on the Armageddon crew, and it's not just the sound it's the look, again tie fighters exploding looked like fireworks compared to Giant fiery explosions in Armegeddon, Ha yeah Star wars are far better movies but thats not what I'm talkin about here. And Bay does a lot of things right, his movies are pretty damned entertaining.
If you don't care about plot, character development, continuity... Michael Bay's movies are awesome.

Many other movies and better directors have proved that you don't need to sacrifice plot for fx, character development for hot girls, or continuity for explosions. Bay is one of the few who haven't figured this out.
" @Tyler Starke said:Theres nothing to figure out, he makes entertaining movies, if you wanna watch movies like Network all the time thats fine, it's one of the most amazing classic movies and has pretty much the best written script of all time, but sometimes I don't wanna watch the movie with the best script or the most thought provoking political satire, Sometimes I wanna watch hot girls running in slow motion because sh*t is blowing up, thats just awesome." @Satyrquaze said:Many other movies and better directors have proved that you don't need to sacrifice plot for fx, character development for hot girls, or continuity for explosions. " the 90's had T2. so that means the 90's were the best action movie decade. haha "good man
That doesn't Michael Bay a good director. That just means that sometimes (like anyone else and myself included) you're willing to settle for mindless 'splosions and slow motion gravity defying boobies.
Which I don't mean to be insulting. America was founded on the idea that every red-blooded American had the right to mindless 'splosions and slow motion gravity defying boobies. That's what Superman is fighting the never ending battle for. Truth, Justice, mindless 'splosions, and slow motion gravity defying boobies... maybe a slice of apple pie.
But don't confuse movies that offer these as their basis as being good films. And, that doesn't make Bay a film maker. Don't ever confuse him with being even a passable movie maker. He just isn't. He raped my childhood.
aesthetically pleasing and he's got the budget to make awesome fx, don't get me wrong I don't own any of his movies but I still don't mind him, besides I genuinely liked the rock then again I haven't seen it since the nineties, how did he rape your childhood lol?
The Terminator, Predator, Rambo, Rocky 2, Rocky 3, Rocky 4, Conan the Barbarian, Commando, Cobra, Delta Force...
