Johnny Storm being BLACK..WHY..?

Reason for this shift should make sense, I suggest that the cosmic cloud that gave them their powers change then to Africans.

I believe it is because Josh Tank, who is the director, wanted to give the actor who plays Johnny Storm a starring role....I think because they are friends in real life

I'm black and I think it's wack.

I can kinda get behind the 'diversity in CBMs' idea, but I kinda wish we woulda got the 'real' 616 Nick Fury (for instance). FF with a black Torch is like some kinda alternate reality version. It doesn't grab me as much as the classic version.

I would imagine they did a load or research and found the Fantastic Four were unpopular in Black and Female demographics.

Hence they make Johnny Storm Black and make Reed and Ben younger and better looking.

People gets angry with the only actor that got casted that doesnt sucks.

Reed is younger that Sue, dont care.

Actor that plays Reed cant freacking act, dont care.

They want diversity and like someone above me said, the guy who is directing, Josh Trank, is BFF's with Michael B Jordan, hence offered him the role...

It's stupid I know... I am not racist but they could have at least kept to the comics a little bit...

I got over it many months ago when it was announced. I'm fine with Sue and Johnny being step siblings. I don't think it takes too much away from the story. Jordan was pretty good in Chronicle so i don't think he will be the failing part of the film.

I love the Fantastic Four and have a lot of concerns with what I have heard about this movie (although very little actual information has been released other than actor interviews), but this is not one of them.

My main reservation is the age of the team. I don't want to sit through another origin story. Basically a wasted move. Sure, it could be entertaining, but we just saw the origin of the team not too long ago in 2005 and just about everybody knows the story (unless it is drastically changed which wouldn't be shocking). I don't need to see them spend 2/3 of the movie obtaining their powers and not knowing how to use them only to have them finally put it all together at the end in the final confrontation.

No I didn't. I said you don't need to be great to be a good CBM actor, thus making your point moot either way.

Still people goes to Micheal B. Jordan, because he doesnt have the exact same color of skin that the character does.

Not caring for how the movie will explain things, even when B Jordan has show huge potential as an actor, besides the whole fact its an adaptation.

I'm with you on Jordan. I don't give a crap what Johnny's skin color is. Its irrelevant. Most characters are white because they were made in the 30-60's, and no other reason.

People will continue to whine about this movie though because its not like Fox just knocked it out of the park or anything.

Sue is going to be the adopted child. Reg Cathey has been cast to play their father, Dr. Franklin Storm, and is a black actor.

There are so many better reasons to complain about this movie other than the Torch being black.

I'm surprised no one has said, "Because he left his flame on too long." yet.

It really doesn't matter. I don't think people should be angry over the color of a real persons skin, let alone a fictional characters skin.

If you want a character to be black, either made a character that is or use an existing character thats already black like Black Panther or Storm.

Because Fox thought the team needed more diversity.
