Hey so I don't think a 2099 Rorschach's been done, and I assume it'll be much more tricky since he's dressed less than modern as it is. So there you go! Rorschach in 2099 GO! :D Oh and the contest ends on April 25th!
Ok so, here's my response, drawn and inked by hand. I've kept it simple cause I reckon he would too. Lost the fedora (a little to old timey) and given him body armour, put the trenchcoat on over it to keep him looking like himself.

@HarlequinKiss: Nah, got got some sketching paper and a few tissues. Did my outline then did the colouring by bundling the tissue up, holding it to an ink bottle and shaking. The I just wiped across where i wanted the colour... It was a slow process :L Pencil for the armour and just a regular ballpoint pen for the outline

In the year 2099 superheros are an endangered species. Scientist seeing the crime rate hit the roof decided to build an android that would scan through a list of superheroes and duplicate that superhero. They built the robot and hooked him up to a scanner, and the robot came to the conclusion that Rorschach's determination for the fight against criminals was the perfect superhero to copy. Thus he became Rorschach 2099. Although the scientist couldn't stand the robot's brutal nature, the robot was killing more criminals than saving the city. They tried to cut the cords but Rorschach escaped and went rogue.
He now walks the city, continuing to fight crime and has become the boogeyman of the criminal underworld.
And Yes, I just finished watching Tron Legacy, and that played a big part in the look of the character. I hope the future actually looks like the Tron world, that would be sweet.
@The Lobster : good take on Rorschach, I really like the origin idea. Been going through a Tron phase myself of late :)
@ssejllenrad: killer idea on the perspective fx. You are gonna seriously fear something that comes at you looking like that. :) (almost looks a little like Lilith with the way it fans up)
While carrying out it's daily work schedule, a domestic droid found a long hidden floppy disk containing Rorschach's journal. Compelled by it's programming to learn new things, the droid downloads the information into it's memory. The files corrupt the droid's artificial intelligence and overwrite it's programming with the memories and experiences of Rorschach and as a result the droid now believes it is Rorschach.
The LEDs in the droids visor are constantly changing, similar to Rorschach's mask.
The droid carries the original disk tucked into it's hat-band.
@payno: damn, that is the coolest futuristic concept you've concocted yet my friend. Wickedly creative. And that floppy tucked in the hat is a great touch of humor. :)
@payno: I'm loooooooving the concept! Especially the Fedora... Floppies don't get much love anymore so this is one helluva "homage" to the classic storage device.
The design reminds me of MGS4's Raiden... Just scarier and funnier at the same time.. Nyehehehehe!

When Rorschach was apparently killed by Dr. Manhattan, Manhattan felt guilt and rebuilded Rorschach's body because he thought Ror needed a proper burial. Years after the funeral, A person who thinks he is a living descendant of an evil sorcerer, resurrected Ror and others to attack the new batch of Watchmen. He outsmarted the most of the Watchmen but Dr. Manhattan arrived and showed him his previous life, shocked he attacked his fellow undead and killed the the sorcerer. Now a being cant be killed, He joined Doctor Manhattan on the Planet Mars for who knows how long. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, Graaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrr......Well I'm a zombie. What am I suppose to say...Grarrrrrrrr

I saw this contest and I had to do it! I changed him in the fact that the mask took over his body. I got rid of the hat to modernize him more but I kept the coat. I just made the coat more futuristic looking. I plan to color it but I liked the final line work that I wanted to post that. Let me know what yall think.
