So much time has gone since I last babbled out something here. Yes, I still read comics-I mean, you can't just STOP, right? I also devoted time to my other hobbies and family and am happy that several of those had infected them, particulary my sweet hunk of a fiance. I'm extremely happy she enjoys video games.
I think the place I should start is with my reading list. Oh, how things have changed. I used to read and have interest in several Marvel titles, but since the latest story arcs-I'm pointing at the Hope and Phoenix junk, I'm done. I loved X-men back in the '90s and early '00s and some stuff after that, but things just seem to be... I'm not even sure what words properly express how I feel about it. I can only say I don't like it all and think most of it is pretty stupid. I only read Ultimate Comics Spider-Man these days and it being an alternate universe doesn't really count, does it?
I've found myself enjoying several of DCs New 52 titles a lot more. I don't mind that they rebooted everything. Things feel fresh and familiar at the same time and I think Marvel could stand to do one of their own. That car has been running a REALLY long time and it's time to junk it for a new one.

It seems like the smallest my pull-list has ever been. I haven't gone through the new upcoming stuff to see if there is anything there I'd like. I don't get Previews anymore, so the process is more annoying. I have to rely on friends, Twitter, and my LCS to give me the heads up on things I may be interested in.
I'm also reading some things that aren't on my list. My dear friend, Jen, shares my addiction and she reads different stuff than I, so I'll dig into her pile when she's done. She reads more of the warm fuzzy stuff and children's things with a few odd-balls in there that surprise me, but of her stuff on her list that she gets regularly, I read the following:
Stuff I Swipe From My Friend To Read
- Akaneiro
- Amala's Blade
- American Vampire
- Asylum of Horror
- Bravest Warriors
- Chew
- Marvel's Oz Stuff
- Executive Assassin stuff
- Fashion Beast
- Grimm Fairy Tales Stuff
- Jirni
- Mice Templar Stuff
- Honey West
- House of Mystery
- Saga
- Peter Panzerfaust (i don't know if this is a new thing, but she started picking it up.)
- Steed and Mrs. Peel.
- The Sixth Gun
- Peanuts
- Penguins of Madagascar
- TMNT Stuff
- Unwritten
- Wasteland
Between the two of us, we amass a lot of stuff. Each of us has a comic budget and if the week has us under, instead of saving, we just blow it all up to our budgeted amount. It's no big deal. For me, this usually means older stuff I've wanted to read or Yu-Gi-Oh/L5R cards/Board Games. Jen is Korean (which I somehow feel is relevent to this) and enjoys building those giant robot kits. She also has FAR more to burn on this kinda thing than me. It probably also helps that it's her only hobby, really.
Moving on, aside from these lists which pretty much desigate a day-or-two to relaxing with cofees or teas and reading time, I'm reading through some older stuff. It goes much slower since the priority is on the new. I don't like my new issues piling up too much. So that stuff looks like:
Older Stuff I'm Reading
- Pinochio Vampire Slayer - The 2nd Book.
- Chimpanzee Complex - 2nd Book
- Green Hornet - I'm starting at the beginning and I've gotten some Kato, too.
- Owly - TPB 1
So there you have it. Now that I have this page as part of my browser auto-open start-up thingy I should be getting back to sharing my thoughts and experiences with the comics I read.
