@alexander505: You dont know that yet. Maybe if more time passes without a dose, he isnt a metahuman
@joshmightbe: he isnt the first or the last character to be ruined by the new52.
@alexander505: It says without a recent dose maybe if more time passes he is not metahuman
It makes me sad that almost two decades of fantastic character development went out the window with the new 52 reboot. Aw well, I still have my old Vengeance of Bane II mini-series and Secret Six back issues to keep me company :P
This is awesome! Batman needs laser eyes! ... and the Joker should be a telepath! Yeah... Yeah... and Knightwing can see the future!
Sorry for the sarcasm, but this is stupid.
@thetimestreamer: Batman and Superman were the only characters that came out of it relatively unscathed tho there are a few things about the current Superman I'm not fond of.
Doesn't giving Bane actual super powers take away from who the character is?
Indeed it does,he is no longer the multi dimensional character that he was Pre-Flashpoint but I'll just resign myself to a competent and dangerous villain anything less though is sacrilege.
As for the scans,I think people are going waaaaay overboard the issue isn't even out for Gods sakes. And it says without a RECENT DOSAGE of venom not without venom big difference.
Nice. This makes Batman's fights against him much more impressive.
Yeah but the only fight they had recently ended with Batman not looking so impressive.
@entropy_aegis: True, but if this is true, other fights are impressive. Bane was HEAVILY dosed in that fight, as we all know.
I'm still waiting on a Slade vs Bane fight in the Comics.
That would be an absolutely amazing fight. I would love to see that.
Doesn't giving Bane actual super powers take away from who the character is?
Why does it take away from the character? I mean I don't mind as long as they ensure that he keeps his great tactical mind which is my favorite aspect of the character. Getting superpowers also kinda makes sense. I mean he has been taking venom so long the effects could prove permanent.
@theocitylegend: Yes but him over coming his addiction to venom was a huge character defining thing so the new 52 putting him back on it itself was pretty much ruining his show of will, so saying he not only couldn't beat the addiction here and stayed on it to the point where the effect became permanent more makes him look like an unrepentant junkie than the character that earned Batman's respect despite being an enemy.

Takes away all the development that's he's seen over the years,I'm all for making Bane dangerous but I also want a character who can entertain and somewhat realistic.
@joshmightbe: most greeb lanterns are uscathed
@bigtewell: What's the emotion for Greeb Lanterns? (Sorry had to)
Sorry, but why this should be stupid? For years Bane has showed to have a metahuman strength, and now, maybe it's official.
@theacidskull: Yes, indeed.
What's the difference between metahuman and superhuman?
Eh, I think it still has too do with the venom. They explicitly state that he has been 'pumping himself full of it for years' and then reinforce an idea of a latent venom effect by specifically saying he hasn't had a 'recent' injection. So its been a little while, but he still is affected by venom. I mean you smoke some herb and it takes 30 days or so too pass a drug test.
What's the difference between metahuman and superhuman?
Metahuman=genetically enhanced either born with powers or powers were unlocked ,superhuman=power up through any means.Ofcourse this is my understanding and applies only to humans.
Sorry, but why this should be stupid? For years Bane has showed to have a metahuman strength, and now, maybe it's official.
He was never a superhuman without venom,he was peak human(comicbook peak ofcourse) in strength, durability and stamina. That's more impressive cause it shows he worked to get to that level instead of just having powers.
It diminishes him, regardless though that's the least important thing when it comes to Bane's depiction in that issue, now I'm worried for Batman.
Yes, so? After long time affected by Venom, now Bane is metahuman also without the drug. May be perfectly logical explanation.
I'm still waiting on a Slade vs Bane fight in the Comics.
That would be awesome as long as they don't make DS win the fight easily, I thought TDKR would put Bane in the front again and he'd a major threat in comics but it seems like I was wrong.
@rustyroy: Bane got typed cast into the "big guy" role, and not given the respect he deserves. Such a shame after the great character development he had in the past that made a serious threat.
@breadspread: Yeah and this guy broke the bat, outsmarted one of the smartest man in the world and now he's getting beaten by punks.

Well he was the villain of the Knight Terrors arc, terrible as it was but Bane was definitely a big threat there. The same goes for the current Talon series, not to mention the upcoming Arkham war. It's just his recent appearance in Batwoman that was lousy.
@entropy_aegis: I hope Arkham war is good. He's going up against the Scarecrow, right?
Crane is really going to have to step up his game if this series is going to make Bane look good.

Yeah but I want more, I don't want special appearances, I want something big, the Arkham war seems to be promising.
Bane vs Deathstroke would be great...my money on Bane ;D
Never bet against Wilson.

He's the main villain in Talon have you been reading that?
@entropy_aegis: I hope Arkham war is good. He's going up against the Scarecrow, right?
Crane is really going to have to step up his game if this series is going to make Bane look good.
That is my only complaint,Scarecrow just isn't good enough.

Punks?

I love Bane but Deathstroke is too much,Bane is stronger, more resilient and probably the superior h2h fighter but Wilson's arsenal of weapons, agility and speed should give him the victory.
Good fight though.
@entropy_aegis: Don't get me wrong, I love the Scarecrow. I just never saw him much as a mastermind strategist that could lead a gang to go toe to toe with Bane. They could develope and build Crane up, really invest into that character, make him mor formidable, and make him up to the task to match wits with Bane. That'd be cool, but it would take some decent writing, and I'm afraid that it would take up a large part of the story.
