I love the Spirit. Great stuff. I've put some work into his page. I think it'll be interesting with Frank Miller directing the movie.
The Spirit
Character » The Spirit appears in 1446 issues.
Will Eisner's legendary newspaper comic creation was Denny Colt, a police detective that took on the identity of the masked vigilante, The Spirit, upon seemingly being resurrected after his death.
Anyone besides me excited about the movie?
I've just started getting into the Spirit with the current DC comic. Besides the fact that Eisner created it, there's always been something appealing about the character. I just never looked up any of the comics. I remember in the 90s I bought a card set even though I didn't know anything about him. Dang, wonder where that set is now?!? Gotta find that!
Good job on the page. I do feel it's important that the pages of characters in an upcoming movie have a decent amount of info. Helps the site when people start looking up info after watching the movie.
That's a hint for everyone...
Having never read any spirit comic I can't say that I'm excited, will watch it though as it looks good
I recently went to Orlando and 3 days ago I saw it announced on one theater but couldn't enter because I was going somewhere else, I thought that the movie came until Christmas, is it in theaters yet or was that a special function?
I'm kinda scared now.
Here's some of my thoughts and insight into the original characters if you haven't watched this VIDEO yet.
I heard it ain't really like the Spirit comic (which I wouldn't know about) which will probably make fans of the character attack the movie, however I think that as an own movie it looks good, yeah it kinda reminds you of Sin City but is that such a bad thing? That movie was a crime movie with various themes going on and tie-ing together, The spirit for what I know is a crimebuster and most of his stories are stand-alone, it ain't like guys like Superman, Batman, Spider-man, etc who have big stories in which to base movies
Honestly I didnt think Sin City was a very good movie at all....I also am not a big fan of most of Frank Millers work ( he has very little depth and everything is overly prostitutes and killers. The aesthetics are kool but as a movie I am not all that excited....besides I dont think it looks much like the Spirit really.
