Is it just me, or am I the only one who isn't excited for the arrival of The Dark Knight Rises? I'm not a Christopher Nolan fan whatsoever and I get huge crap from people who just don't see at eye level with me.I'm glad people are free to make their own adaptations of characters and their stories, but I believe the origin should remain intact to the original. I think if you're going to do something you should do it right, and frankly I don't think Christopher Nolan's version makes the cut.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the new Spiderman film has been given a 77 out of 100. I'm not too sure what to think about this, I'm debating if I should see it or not. I mean it could be that the people who watched it are just out for the visuals rather than the story itself, or the film is really all together a bad film. Maybe the audience believes its a good film but it really isn't because they've never read a Spiderman comic book. Who knows what the case is, but all I want to know if it's worth the watch and if it fulfills reboot standards?
I recently stumbled upon the animator Robb Pratt's cartoon short of Superman Classic. In Superman Classic it has a deep resemblance to 1940's cartoons because of the music, animation, and storytelling. I really enjoyed watching this because it reminded me of the cartoons I use to watch as a little girl. I really enjoyed the climaxing and theatrical music they used when Superman was fighting the robot. In addition, I also enjoyed the cheesy comic relief they used here in there in the 58 second clip. I tried scavenging for recent stuff from Robb Pratt, but was immediately disappointed to find that he hasn't posted anything new since last year. I surely look forward to perhaps seeing his debuted work sometime in the near future.
So rumor has it that Marvel will release an issue on Spiderman's 50th birthday, an issue where Spiderman has a sidekick by the name Alpha. I'm usually not usually fond of apprentices or side kicks but, I've looked at the scans and, I admit it looks like an enticing read. I'm willing to give it a shot, as long as I get past the fact that Alpha's costume looks like a combination of the Green Lantern and Kick Ass. From what I've read so far it presents the good old fashion Spiderman but, in a more mature fashion. Hopefully, I'm not disappointed August 22nd.
