    Trippy

I know this score is a bit unexpected, but as much as I enjoy Ellis' Moon Knight and as sad as I am that he is leaving soon, there are some glaring issues I simply cannot ignore. but before I get to the dirty parts, I want to mention that one of the best things about this series is that Ellis basically helped Moon Knight stand on his feat, because last times fans saw him he wasn't in a good state, considering that he was dragged through the mud. Moreover, I really have to thank ellis for adding some many new interesting elements of lore to Moon Knight, I really appreciate that he basically established the scheme and tone upon which following writers can built up on, which gives me hope that that special Feel of the book won't be lost once the new creative team comes along.

On the other had however, you can't really savior these singular issues, because they just don't leave that big of an impression on you. What I mean is that, I feels like each issues is still individual, because I couldn't really find a rope which interconnects the fist four issues, and considering that Ellis leaves after two issues I doubt he'll be able to tie everything together. don't get me wrong, the adventure is fun, but I go through these issues under a single minute, and that's, in case you didn't know, means that the issues was really short, and it doesn't give me enough time to absorb what I just finished reading. It's like tasting something delicious and then having it taken away from you in an instant. Like I said, it just isn't enough. The problem is further intensified when you factor in that there is no(at least for now) progressive story. These are all individual issues, which makes the already short installments feel...shorter. Each story is stand-alone, but because of lack of time and content it just can't build it's own identity. It comes across like Warren telling us "Hey look, here's Moon Knight doing a lot of fun and crazy shit, so you know, come check it out!" And funny thing is that isn't necessarily bad, but it just needs more build up and background I guess. Look I get that I'm being a bit harsh here, but I felt that I should really point this out, and hey, maybe I'm wrong, maybe there are clues all over the place which I shamelessly missed. We're gonna have to wait and see.

If you are looking for a fun adventure that, this is definitely a must-have. I've said this before and I'll say it again, Ellis and Shalvey are a perfect team. The way they collaborate is absolutely brilliant. The art was absolutely spectacular and it offers a lot of new diversity and beauty in terms of colors, especially when you consider that Moon Knight has been, mostly of course, a mix of grey, black and white, which of course fits the tone perfectly. But the visual side of this issue is taken to a next level, and I have to say that despite it's gorgeous looks, it goes hand in hand with the gritty feel of he book.

My verdict would be that as of now, I don't think these issues are building up to anything specifically, but they are entertaining as hell, and definitely worth a read if you're a fan of gritty, wacky fun, though you just have to re-read it a couple of time to make it really sink in.

    Recommendation: Sure!

I'm not much a reviewer, but my god, this series is incredible. The visuals are stunning, the psychedelic pallet of the dreamstate Moon Knight has to visit in this issue is inspiring. The art in general is top notch, complementing the gritty style of the comic without having to rely on a dull, muddy colour range. This is a Moon Knight characterised as fulfilling his holy role as warden of night travellers, and it's great to see the focus shift from his own insanity to the insanity of the grisly...

Moon Knight continues to stand out as one of the most individual series out there right now in comics as a whole. However, this week it stands out for different reasons, which, while not a bad thing, reinforces the issues that I do have with the series.I won't say anything about the story, as there's so little of it, but it very much takes a back-seat here, book ending what is otherwise a visual high. The art here hearkens back to the Doctor Strange stories of yore, and is absolutely a blast to ...
