Marvel's adaption of the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton starring movie, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978). The movie had a disastrously troubled shooting, and Marvel received no cooperation from the Robert Stigwood Company (who produced the film). Consequently, the adaptation script by the otherwise excellent David Anthony Kraft ended up a convoluted mess after multiple revisions due to the production studio dragging their heels. To further complicate things, George Perez had a rough time with the artwork on this issue, partially due to being paired with inker Jim Mooney who did not have a complimentary art style to Perez' hyper detailed pencils. The comic proved a disaster, and the American release was scutted by Marvel after the movie tanked at the box office. It was however, released in Japan and France, and reportedly some French-Canadian editions exist as well. The book was never released in English, however and both Kraft and Perez consider it an extremely low point in their respective careers.
