While there are many notorious world-conquering bad guys in the comic world, only a select few can be considered truly sadistically evil. They are the ones that don't want a better world for anyone. They just want to see the world and life burn...with no exceptions! These are the villains that give our heroes the biggest head-aches and invoke the most terror within the reader. Let's start the new year off with the baddest of the bad as I list The Top 10 Most Evil Villains in Comics! And we can all be glad that these malevolent masters of malice don't exist in real life...or do they?

@Mego_Stretch_Hulk: Is it a good thing that Marvel has all the psycopaths?

I mean, only 3 of the list are DC. And they are Gotham. Stay away from there, and DC is....comparitvely safe

Some I think should of been on it (Carnage), though good list overall.

This is awkard, but, I don't think the Joker is evil.

There's a difference between a chaotic bastard and a evil bastard.

I agree that Darkseid is truly evil. But he also has an honor system and he doesn't want to eradicate all life, he wants to control it. Evil...yes, but his motivations are to rule.

As for Apocalypse, while he is tremendously evil and is listed in the honorable mention list, he still is more of a mutant knock off of Thanos. I used popularity and reputation to base this ranking and he couldn't crack into the top 10 because of it.

Reminds me of DnD's alignment system: Chaotic Evil, Neutral Evil, and Lawful Evil. Imo, Lawful Evil is the greatest evil, and it certainly the most dangerous. After all, there are some things worse than death, succumbing to the Anti-Life equation for one.

Norman Osborn rates up there after his deeds in Civil War, Dark Reign and Seige too I think. What about The Governor from 'Walking Dead'? Randall Flagg in 'The Stand'? (even though that was a novel made telly series made comic haha but still a good comic

I reckon Joker and Galactus...

Those guys are pretty much demonic, got no reason why they do bad stuffs, just people die, die , die,

Trickster remarks, "When super-villains want to scare each other, they tell Joker stories."
