Respect The Goon, Defender of Lonely Street

No Caption Provided

The Goon is a brutish enforcer and serves as the devout protector of Lonely Street -- doing so alongside his childhood friend, Frankie. His origin is weird, wild, and wacky, the son of a deadbeat mob member, The Goon was left in the care of his aunt, a circus performer known as Kizzie the Iron Maiden. Growing up in her care he learned to fight and continued to train throughout his youth, gaining a positive reputation with the other performers. Eventually a ruthless mob boss known as Labrazio visited the circus and took a liking to The Goon; however, local authorities learned of Labrazio's location and chased him down, engaging in a shootout with the infamous criminal. It was during this shootout that his aunt was killed -- in a fit of rage The Goon killed Labrazio and stole what he had on his person, collecting debts from Labrazio's 'black book' under the guise that he was Labrazio's enforcer.

Eventually The Goon found himself at Lonely Street where he would settle down, defending the town and it's inhabitants from a slew of supernatural beings such as zombies, vampires, werewolves, and eldritch horrors.

At the core of his being The Goon is a brick -- a burly man who likes to punch first and ask questions later. He has a stupid level of strength for a 'normal' human and can take quite the beating too.

So -- let's give him our respect, shall we?

Table of Contents

Misc

These feats are general attributes of The Goon that make him an interesting character and a tough opponent.

  • The Goon #1 - Is able to juggle chickens.
  • The Goon #8 - Was able to resist the charms of a succubus. She later seduced him but found that his pain was greater than anything she could've imagined and begged The Goon to kill her.
  • The Goon #26 - Is an expert torturer.

2.0 | Marksmanship

While he's not a gunslinger (that's usually Frankie's method of attack) he does have some decent showings with his handy six-shooter.

  • The Goon #3 - As a child he was an expert shot; was able to use a revolver to headshot six different zombies.
  • The Goon #12 - Shoots off an arm of one of Dr. Alloy's robots.
  • The Goon #16 - Hits a headshot against an armed thug.

3.0 | Fights

The Goon is constantly engaged in conflict with a variety of supernatural beings -- his fights will be showcased here. They'll feature a combination of strength and durability feats as well.

  • Dethklok Versus The Goon - Kills a massive number of armed attackers using a variety of melee weapons and his fists.
  • The Goon #3 - As a child was able to fight off groups of zombies.
  • The Goon #6 - Became the 'Goon Ape' to beat a giant monster known as Lagarto Hombre!

  • The Goon #26 - KO's Merle, a werewolf, which returns him to his human form.
  • The Goon #29 - Kills the mystical undead foe known as Mr. Wicker. The Goon & Frankie were also the two who fought him before his original death.
  • The Goon #31 - Kills the undead foe known as Labrazio after a grueling hand to hand battle. Labrazio was capable of easily busting small buildings with his blows and was a feared mob boss when he was living.
  • The Goon #34 - Beats the crap out of some Twilight-parody Vampires. The beating was so brutal that it was given it's own holiday, St. McFuggin's Day
  • The Goon #34 - Wins a fight against a demon girl. She tries to bite him with her sharp teeth but only succeeds in ripping his vintage jersey, angering him.
  • The Goon #35 - Beats the freakish foe known as the Ten-In-One.
  • The Goon: Noir #3 - KO's a giant foe to save Franky.
  • The Goon: Once Upon a Hard Time #1 - Kills Spindle, a member of an evil group known as The Coven. Her ability to turn into a mist made her hard to beat, but Goon was able to counter it by using a harsh acid, the fumes of which caused Spindle to burn even while in mist form.
  • The Goon: Once Upon a Hard Time #4 - Kills Longfingers, a member of an evil group known as The Coven, doing so by breaking both his arms and ripping them from his body.

Conclusion

The Goon is a wacky street tier character who excels at solving problems with his fist -- a street tier brick if I've ever seen one. While his series is more comical than others, his feats are still decent for low/mid street settings, with his impressive strength and endurance as his two strongest attributes.

It was a fun thread to make and I enjoyed re-reading all of The Goon, a series I highly recommend if you're looking for comedic supernatural hi-jinks with some surprisingly strong character moments.

The MISC feat of the succubus has the wrong image in it. That's the one where he breaks Longfingers.
