have you ever wondered who the first superhero was? for many its superman the man of steel, but for another man it was someone else. the year was 1929 a young writer named Ed c. segar found a rough rouser in a small town, legend about this man named frank "rocky" fiegal was that he smoked a pipe an he loved to get into fights and he never lost so inspired the young segar came up with a comic book character in his image this man would become popular an stay that way for many years after his first appearence. this thread is a nod this character and his amazing feats this thread is for the 1 and only Popeye the Sailor Man.

Introduction:

for this section honestly i thought who better to introduce Popeye than none other than Popeye the sailor himself? ARF ARF ARF!

Strength:

Popeye broke diamonds with his fists.

While fighting a couple of swabs he sunk the ship they were fighting on

ok at the moment this section might seem a little lack luster but fear not I plan to try to search for more speed feats.

ah the cream of the crop the very thing that makes cartoon characters so op is none other than there toonforce an ability that just breaks all sense of logic in this section i will show you just what Popeyes is capable of.

Misconceptions:

like every character it seems even some of the sailor mans feats have been miscontrued over the years. now im sure you all have seen this at some point.

now i dont know who made this list of feats nor do i know where these feats supposedly come from. but if I was you I would not listen to the vast majority of the feats on this list. ngl this list of feats was the original reason i decided to make a respect thread on popeye, at first glance this is a very impressive list, lassoing the sun and blowing it out to spend more time with olive oil, lifting the earth, juggling planets. its all very nice and you here these feats being talked about everywhere that talks about Popeye but i dont believe those exist, i have searched the internet far and wide i have seen many ppl reference them but i havent found them. now could they be from 1 of his video games? sure i have not really looked for feats from there. or could it be from some novel of popeye or his early comic book showings sure popeye came out decades ago and some of his comics are very hard to find... this all being said if these feats do exist and you know where to find them or you personally have them feel free to leave them down in the comic section id love to add them to my thread.

Conclusion:

well there you have it folks, for the most part I think this thread is done i will be looking through his old episodes once more to see if i missed any other really crazy feats of his, i certainly did not add all of his feats that would be a list indeed i wanted to add what i thought would be the best of his best, that being said i really hope you all enjoyed the thread and perhaps you learned a little something new here today.

hello ladies and gentlemen y3k here just sending out a quick message due to the recent death battle ill admit it got me exicted for the match so i wanted to look through my old popeye RT thread i made a few years back and in doing so i came upon multiple different issues with the thread and in an attempt to fix them i accidentally made things worse so i deleted it. and wanted to do a redue of the thread this thread. that being said this thread is not finished product over the next couple of days i will be working on fixing my mess i had with the old and finishing this i want to do it right this time. that will be all

This is why we don't pair parody characters up against quite literally toon force god characters, a better match up for Popeye would've been someone like Toriyama's Arale from Dr. Slump.

You are literally making this comment on his respect thread with 2 examples of him bringing himself back from being completely disintegrated in one case and being erased in the other by eating spinach even while being in these states. Did you even read the respect thread at all?

And Popeye can come back from the former by literally having the nothingness left behind eating spinach and material his body again. If the literally nothingness left behind from being disintegrated can eat spinach to heal him back fully then whatever is left of him sure as hell can
