@cadencev2: Only if I were to say he could smack down God. But that's not the case. "D" can just operate on a higher dimensional level. That's why such things didn't work on him, because they still followed 3-dimensional laws and concepts. Which won't affect something of the 4th-dimensional variety. "D" still had to sever himself from the Akashia Record to keep from being affected by it, so it's an action he took.
Also saying Hell King Spawn can just blank him from existence is a NLF of its own. We know figures on Malebolgia's power level ain't all that when there are Angels who could smack him down rather easily. Plus Spawn would only be at the height of his power while in His Circle of Hell. Those greater abilities don't work so well outside that domain. Kinda like Mephisto in Marvel. Powerful enough in his own realm to challenge Galactus. Outside of it, can get glared at and made to back down by Thanos.
"D" just has bigger feats. Even going so far as to destroy the magic creating the soldiers of Valcua's army, even while only one-handed. Literally one-handed as for much of that arc, Left Hand had been severed from him and sent off to take care of other things while "D" focused on fighting Valcua's main forces and assassins.
And Left Hand on its own ain't somethin to underestimate either as it kept the reactor in the Nobles Fortress from going critical and exploding. A reactor made using the Sacred Ancestor's technology, the damage to which could only be repaired by a Dimensional Fusion. Which the computer stated was a technology still in development. And yet Left Hand on its own, after already being in a big fight, was left behind by "D" to ensure the reactor didn't explode and kill them all.
"D" is simply too much for Spawn at this stage.
