I hate to be CaptainObvious here but Thor blasts Surfer off his board, Surfer turns into a black coal skinned depowered alien. Movie Surfer was much weaker and would be easily made mortal Thor wins

You Thor n Surfer fans were always a nice bunch, the Wolverine, Superman and Hulk 'fans' have made life a little unbearable here
Thor wins my knocking Surfer off his board. (Shitty Writting on those screen writers. Bad writers) Comic Wise Surfer easily. But the movie version looks good, but can't do anything. Thor showed off more feats in the movie, Flight, summon storms and what not.
Silver Surfer might actually still be more powerful given his actual feats of just rocking anything that came into contact with him. His presence had molecules going haywire, turning water solid, egypt an early winter, having Johnny's molecules going whack just touching him.
He's also running around at zany speeds(Thor showed some nice speed, but nothing really that).
Although I'd bet money on Thor being physically stronger than Movie Surfer and capable of harming him(Doom seemed to make him angry when he blasted him).
Absolutely no chance Norrin would win blasting away at him given Thor was able to casually knock energy projection away with his hammer.
If Thor was able to knock Norrin off his board however, he would stomp, but that required a plot device to even do. If he doesn't I think he'd probably lose.

I think that's only if he's been away from this board for a while.he can call is back to him just as Thor calls his Hammer back.Victor had to use a device to take use of the board.Reed created a pulse simulator to seperate him from it,so he had a special device...

The point is that Silver Surfer is NOT powerless without his board in the comics. They treated him like he was. They outright said that the power came from his board (shown when he was vulnerable when knocked off and when Doom gained power by taking the board). In the comics, it's the opposite. Silver Surfer retains all of his powers without the board and can create a new board at will.

No. He has full control of his powers without the board; he just lacks flight. Also, in the comics, he has control of the board. He can cause it to come to him, make it fuse onto another person, or have it fly on its own. He can also create a new board at will.

Well actually Thor channels his power through Miljnor,his hammer just amplifies the control and power.Though the same can be said for SS,they said he channeled his energy from his baord through his body,also he started to become weak after he was away from it for long period of time.Like i said before, if he got knocked off in a one on one fight,he 'd probably quickly hop back on board. Also SS in the movie doesn't just come off with gravity,Reed had to create a special device..so i doubt he would even come off easily...unless Thor has a cosmic pulsator device thingy.
Also wasn't it to later on in the comics that he could retain his awesome power cosmic even after loosing the board and creating new ones.Also it's a movie,and therefore plot devices have to be used.It'd be unfair if he could just pop a new board out.

Really? You got me there. How is it obvious? I mean, he lost his powers in the movie, since they were connected to his board, and had them stolen. I'll take Thor, thankyou. He can deflect anything SS throws at him with Mjolnir, and can cause him harm in return.

The only time Thor was without his hammer is when he was depowered and banished to earth. With his hammer, he took out the frost giants, caused massive quakes, deflected anything the Destroyer threw at him, and took him out with Mjolnir in the end, after carrying him up in a tornado of his making.

You know what, i wanted to watch F4Rise of the SS again after doing this thread,and now that i come think of it.SS was attached to his board upside down, tanked missiles, even absorbed them into his board. I think another problem Thor would have is SS phasing powers..
how can you hit an intangible Surfer?besides i think SS was a bit faster then Thor.Yeah and all the feats you put out there for Thor are true,but SS tanked hella missiles, absorbed energy with his board,he created a sub atomic hole down to the earth core,and he stopped Galactus wit his own power.he shot a cosmic blast that destroyed crap load of tanks.

Odin stripped Thor of all his powers not just his hammer, he just had to prove he was worthy to lift his hammer to get his powers back. Any thought that his power lies in his hammer is pure misconception

I agree with everything Josh wrote. It was quite clear that Odin stripped him of his powers and made him mortal, and was no longer obviously worthy of Mjolnir, let alone his godly/asgardian powers. He was still Thor Prince of Asgard before he would get his powers, i'm sure he wasn't powerless. And as for the previous post, bout SS absorbing missiles and phasing, nothing Thor couldn't do just the same with Mjolnir, as far as deflecting goe's. Heck, he was easily deflecting the Destroyer as he was lifting him up into his tornado, and doing the same with Loki and vise versa in there fight at the end.

No, Thor can't phase, but I thought that was obvious? He can do lot's with Mjolnir, like deflect anything thrown at him, as was stated and shown in his fight with the Destroyer and Loki. Yes, I believe Mjolnir is more than a powerfull device to not only cause SS harm, but seperate him from his board, since it is more powerfull than anything in the FF movies.

Exactly. Feel like we just caught a decent showing of him using some of his strength and powers. I feel like we only caught a glimpse of his true potential/powers.
What's crazy is Mjolnir had to be forged inside of a dieing star. I wonder what processes it underwent! Man, I wish there were more details in the Thor movie. I really wanted to know more about him and see him in more action.
