Boom-Boom
Character » Boom-Boom appears in 1789 issues.
A former member of the New Mutants and X-Force, Boom-Boom is a mutant with the ability to create energy bombs of various sizes and intensity which explode upon impact.
Boom Boom cant be written wrong. .
Boom Boom could be rocking out to Ke$ha while fighting a sentinel and talking about the most off the wall crap and it would be a awesome panel. why isnt Boom Boom used more?????
I'm not exactly sure why either, but i'd really love to see her more.

Boom Boom can be written wrong, and often has been. She was written wrongly in Uncanny X-Men. If she was rocking out & brainlessly fighting then she would be written wrongly. Everyone always forgets the growth of character from a decade's worth of X-Force appearances.
which issue of Uncanny Xmen was she written badly in Ms Xerox? and i never said brainlessly fighting. she would be having fun.
Nation X: Chapter 3
Badly written. Badly drawn. I'd rather she be left in limbo than used as a leaping barbie doll.
I never understood why Boom Boom who has been there for so long and involved in most of the important stories of X-men has been left the way she is now, maybe she is just too powerful and they don't know what to do with her, she gives the explodo for God's sake, They don't take her serious, I mean, Jubilee, Shadowcat, X23, Armor, Pixie, Magik all the New Mutants and New young X-men are more important than her. But Boom Boom has been treated unfairly. I hope she start to date Ice Man, she might get more respect. Maybe Emma Frost could undo the brain wash thing, and she could go back to be the way she was before Nextwave.
Boom Boom is a character that really needs to be written by a writer that cares and is a fan of X-Men, if not Tabby herself. Otherwise, with other writers she gets written as her powers, or worse yet, just a generic blond with a cool tude, Thats okay if they write her as cool, and sassy, but it doesn't work in one panel, and the character is more than that. What Tabby needs I think, is sort of what is happening with Jubilee in her mini with Wolverine. A bit of light interaction with a bunch of different X-Men, with some slight nods to her past, and some otherwise strong characterization and character work, with an artist/writer team that gels up well.

"Yeah, it's sad that the only time she's been written with a genuinely knowledge of her character was in Kyle & Yost's X-Force... and to get there they had to kill her... and then not kill her. It drove me crazy seeing the senseless way in which she was killed, and I was so happy when they rewrote history to save her.
The first time she met up with Rictor, she was blind-sided by Shatterstar's kiss. She's always been boy crazy, but she was never a frivolous tart :(
X-Factor issue? Yeah I agree, another writer I like, but again I sort of felt like Tabitha was used for a gag type scene, with the benefit on the other characters. It goes back to what I was saying, she needs a good writer and a few good writers have written her in recent years, but she sort of needs a Mike Carey in how he writes Rogue, or how K&Y write X-23, or like how Aaron writes Wolverine. Fingers crossed, maybe DnA are fans? She might be used in New Mutants in some context?
Hehe, good to see how this always pops back up. Honestly there are quite a lot of Boom Boom fans out there, certainly much more than some more regular used characters have, would be great if Marvel editorial would take notice of this sometimes.
On the other hand it could just be a disaster like all her short appearances since X-Force #17-18 have been.
One, they're only recently bringing back sentinels, so I doubt she'd be fighting any. Two, she's rather outdated.
No one is outdated. Given a good writer anyone can shine. And shes a child of the 80's and 90's like most of her readers.

You take that back! *sulks*
I really don't like the way she's been portrayed in the last few years. Somewhere along the way she just became... empty. She used to be such a fun, lively character with a hidden warm side. Now she's just a porn star smile in a street walker's dress. I'd love to see her in a good story with decent characterisation for a change.

@xerox-kitty: Hell, if someone could give her decent characterization I'd totally welcome it. Having not read X-force (like at all) and very little of the original run of X-factor, I only remember seeing Tabitha as just another 'sassy' character, so I've never really warmed up to her.
And I think most street walkers would try to be a bit more subtle in terms of clothing o_o
