Batman Beyond #5 Hush Beyond: The Revolution Begins!

    No Caption Provided
Batman Beyond: Hush Beyond continues! As Terry McGinnis lays dying in a alley, only one person can save him now. Catwoman! While Terry might've been saved from a slow and painful death, Neo Gotham is being held hostage by a clone of Dick Grayson! Dick Grayson is going to rid Gotham City of evil and tyranny; by destroying the city itself! While Bruce and Terry's relationship as partners reconnect, their first mission together is to take down Dick Grayson before he destroys the entire city!

    The Good

In the previous issue, Hush was revealed to be Dick Grayson. What obviously didn't make since is that Terry McGinnis met with Dick Grayson earlier in the issue. So the reveal (in this issue) that the new Hush is actually a clone of Dick, it gave a whole bunch of clarity. Adam Beechen is doing a excellent job at writing this series. From the beginning (issue 1), I was glad to see Batman Beyond reappear in comics. His show was short lived, however the comics really brought Terry McGinnis and friends, back to life. This story, "Heart Of Hush", is the most involved and exciting adventure in Batman Beyond continuity. Ryan Benjamin's pencils for this issue is great. His drawings for Terry and Catwoman Beyond is really cool, his version of Terry McGinnis is really comedic. The Heart Of Hush story really goes over the top in this issue. As (clone) Dick Grayson is about to nuke Gotham City, it's going to take Batman Beyond to save it once again. While I'm not entirely confident on the clone of Dick Grayson, I've enjoyed how Adam Beechen has been working so progressively on this series.

    The Bad

Ryan Benjamin does a excellent job on the artwork (don't get me wrong), however his pencils for the older people Barbara Gordon and Bruce Wayne seem a little off. I think it's the color that throws off his artwork, however that is the only complaint.

    The Verdict

With this being only one issue away from being complete, you're going to want to pick this series up. Even if you've never heard of Batman Beyond (or his TV show of that matter) pick up these first five issues and get ready for the final issue to this epic sage. Heart of Hush ends with issue 6. Overall this is a 4 out of 5.

The story unravels a bit more as Hush, who was revealed the last issue, leaves Terry for dead and only Catwoman can save him? And what role does Dick Grayson play in all of this?   This review will contain spoilers! The Good Loving the cover, first off. This would make an awesome poster. Dick Grayson was revealed to be Hush in the last issue, and a few people were pretty pissed about it; however, this issue turns things around as it is revealed that Dick Grayson was cloned because Waller wa...

      ADAM BEECHEN FIXED IT! 0

The Good: So, a lot of people were pissed about Hush's reveal last issue. I myself was underwhelmed and frankly confused at the contradictions it presented. Adam Beechen's answer? THIS ISSUE. I figured the reveal was a bit early to be completely resolved so I tried to hold judgement too much and I was rewarded. Everything is explained. All of the seemingly random extraneous loose ends are tied together. It all makes sense. AND IT IS AWESOME. THAT COVER. Dustin Nguyen at his versatile finest. It ...
