Colton Haynes' Roy Harper to Return to 'Arrow'

Old news. He was good in season 3. I'd prefer he stayed away or didn't come back to stay because Team Arrow is a little big but this can be cool if done right.

Nice. He was the only character I liked in Season 3, but considering how much better the show has gotten it's going to be awesome to see him again.

I wonder if he's going to lose his arm this time around.

Good point. Though well acted and well written, he simply wasn't given anything to do in Season 3 except for his outing as Arrow.

I'm betting it's because Thea dies. The promo for the crossover episode has a slow motion shot of knives being thrown at Team Arrow, and Flash is racing to catch all of them... except one character is farther away from the others...

(I think it's a bummer because Thea's turned into a great character.)

They've also written themselves into a corner with the character. It's either she kills people every now and then to deal with the bloodlust, or they incarcerate Damien and force him to absorb her bloodlust every now and then. The latter is a way to keep a good villain around, but.... that just seems kind of odd.

@k4tzm4n: I think Diggle is going to be this season sacrifice, with their playing up his brotherly relationship with Ollie and the closing off of his remaining plot lines. Team Arrow is also bloated at the moment and Diggle is the most expendable.

They put in too much effort into building Thea's character over the last two season to just kill her off so sudden, plus that could be seen as repetition of Ra's comatosing her last season.

I bet Oliver pays him a secret visit and catches him shooting up.

Roy's return definitely makes him a dirt nap candidate, but I think Lyla or Thea (in that order) are the most likely candidates.

I am not sure who will die, but I'm 100% certain it wont be Felicity. Or at least, it will not be a true death for Felicity. That character is way too popular. I can't imagine her being off the show unless there is a major contract dispute.

I don't think that they are going to make a secondary villain (at least for now) kill Thea, also Oliver is only going to have cameos on Legends of Tomorrow he won't be a part of the cast and it would be weird if somebody else catches Thea's killer that is not Oliver. Besides she has plot threads that are not done yet. You forgot that Damian in the first episode seem to take his powers from a fountain, Thea is just going to steal that

Glad to see him back. Hopefully they actually do some interesting things with his character. Imo, he has been the most wasted character on the show. The cast got so bloated that he was forced to the background.

Because he and Ollie are friends, and when a member of a good friend's family dies, you go to the funeral to pay respects and provide emotional support for your friend.

This Batman wannabe show needs to get cancelled. They even moved from having a cool character like Arrow to become nothing more than a kindergarden show with sidekicks parading around in tights. They really watered it down.

I've never had anything against Roy, but he just never had much of an organic presence on the show. I think I might prefer he operate as a hero in another city who occasionally revisits Star City.

Also, his exit last season was weak.

Agreed, I have nothing against Roy or Haynes but the only time I have ever found this Roy interesting was during the Mirakuru/Brother Blood arc.

It may be a Batman wannabe show. But haven't you consider the fact that sometimes villains can appear in other heroic titles besides Batman?

Kindergarten show? Are you serious? Seasons 1 and 2 were the greatest. Season 3 went somewhat downhill. Season 4 has improved. Overall, it's a pretty good show. Not a kindergarten show.

Some different theories for his return:

1. He gets taken hostage/prisoner by Darkh to use against Team Arrow. Loses his arm somehow (maybe Darkh cuts it off and uses it as a tool for Blackmail ie. For ever day Green Arrow continues to interfere Roy gets more hurt). He is eventually freed, gets a mechanical arm and re-joins Team Arrow, replacing the character who is killed off (Thea me thinks).
2. He gets taken hostage/prisoner by Darkh to use against Team Arrow. Loses his arm somehow (maybe Darkh cuts it off and uses it as a tool for Blackmail ie. For ever day Green Arrow continues to interfere Roy gets more hurt). He is eventually freed, gets a mechanical arm and operates as a solo hero in another city, having guest appearances on Arrow.
3. He gets brainwashed and used as a weapon by Darkh. He is given a metal arm as an enhancement to take down Green Arrow. He is freed and rejoins Team Arrow.
4. Thea is killed and Roy hears about it. He returns to help Oliver take down her killer and honour her memory. Hopefully he gets the metal arm.

I'm predicting that the grave in the flash-forward in this season's first episode belongs to Quentin Lance.

Anyway, what I really want to see happen is a reveal that Damien Dahrk stole Tommy Merlyn's body soon after his death and used his stolen Lazarus Pit knockoff to resurrect him, yet he is in a broken state. Darhk would then have trained him in fighting styles and is keeping him somewhere to use as a weapon against Malcolm if the need arises. But then when Dahrk confirms that Oliver Queen is the Green Arrow, he decides that Tommy would be an equally effective weapon against him. After Dahrk is defeated, they begin trying to help Tommy and by the end of the next season he is able to help in the final showdown against whomever may be that season's villain, and then joins Team Arrow. Make it happen Berlanti, Kreisburg, and Guggenheim!
