Name: Raeyn (Rain)
Gender: Female (important note, player is male, character is female)
What: Alien
When: Present
Where: A city (yet to be determined)
How: Hero when they can be, Anti-Hero more often than not, Villain when starving.
Who: A member of alien species on the run, hunted to the ends of the galaxy by those they once ruled over. Raeyn tries to do good and at times she even succeeds at it, but the ever present hunger for the remaining time of other sentient beings makes this difficult. When truly starving, she is unpredictable, virtually a wild animal...fortunately she's good at avoiding this state and is more often than not well fed enough to at least try at being a hero. Since the end result of the feeding process is the death of her target, this makes being a true hero difficult. As a matter of compromise, Raeyn is lethal when she needs to be, feeding off of the villains she defeats to maintain herself. She's somewhat paranoid and hard to pin down. If she could find people she trusted not to turn her over to her race's mortal enemies, she would be a good ally or member of a team...so long as they understand the risks.
Why: Guilt. Her species has never been tyrannical in the traditional sense, but they were once masters of their world and fed off of those beneath them at will. Raeyn, like others of her kind, is theoretically immortal (so long as she feeds, she lives) and when at her greatest, she remembers the harm she once did to others simply because it was within her power to do so. Unfortunately, it's hard for her to keep well fed enough to remain in this state for long, so she often operates off of a nagging feeling in the back of her mind, an echo of guilt and a time gone by.
Code Name: Time Siphon.
Powers:
Limited Temporal Manipulation: She can't slow or speed up time for others, but she can generally alter the flow of time for herself. This has the practical effect of making her look as if she has super speed when she runs or heightening her senses when she fights.
Increased Durability
Powered Armor Suit- She doesn't like to use her temporal manipulation because it increases her hunger. To prevent herself from relying on this she has constructed a powered armor suit to provide her with flight and advanced weaponry, as well as enhancing her strength and durability. Outside of the suit, she's more durable than a normal human but no stronger and feels at her most vulnerable. The greatest temptation under such circumstances is to flee.
Temporal Vampire- The innate ability of all her race. Raeyn can see the time available for each person to live if all things were equal (no diseases, car accidents, etc) and can feed upon this remaining time. The effect of this is to sharpen her mind and her scattered memories, provide her with new lives to access when her body dies and kill the target by rapidly aging them to the point of death. This ability requires direct and prolonged contact.
Resurrection- Like all Time Siphons, Raeyn can come back from death. Her body will do this naturally several hours after it has expired by tapping into the stored temporal energy she has drained from her victims. The result of this power is a newly resurrected body in the form of a random victim. She will take on their physical features (and this can even result in changing genders) and a portion of their skills and knowledge. Raeyn hates using this ability because it undoes all of the feeding she has done and puts her on the verge of starvation and thus, on the verge of being little more than a predator. Unfortunately for Raeyn, she has undergone this process dozens of times throughout her life, usually when her enemies catch up to her. She can be permanently slain by destroying her body, but she has become adept at escaping while dying and hiding somewhere safe. She has died three times on Earth alone, usually because of the actions of a villain or some sort of major event. To preserve her cover from the enemies that hunt her species she has changed her identity and moved to a new country each time.
