On each anniversary of 100 years of life, the members of the Seelie Court are made human; and while they are thus mortal, they are hunted by the Unseelie Fae who need the Seelie blood to break out of their fading—the use of magic that causes the Fae to revert to bark and earth.

Selyara's 100th birthday has arrived and if she survives she'll take her throne, dispossessing her regent, Lavara. But Lavara has other ideas...
