I've been reading comics for more that 30 years now, but I think companies should adapt their characters to new readers, otherwise they don't sell anymore and close.

Of course, sometimes I prefer the run of Lee/Kirby or Byrne in FF than some of more recently ones (but, frankly, I prefer Hickman's run than Englehart's), but it's out of question that "old" characters like Zorro or Lone Ranger or Phantom are not appealing any more as they were, and if Marvel or DC don't adapt their characters (and at a greater speed, considering that now everything changes more swiftly), then also Superman or the FF will become "old" in a short time.

That's how the market goes, we can only decide to stay in it or pick up an old comic and stay back in time..
