@rubear: I know that, he was part of one of Venditti's stories but I think this version that King and Williamson now introduced is a different one, an alternate one. There are two things that make me think this: first of all, Eobard is behind bars and from what we saw he could not escape and second, if he actually remembered what happened before Flashpoint he could've escaped earlier, as like maybe when Wally returned a few months ago.

*Yawn*

No, he isn't a different one or alternative one. You may look at issue 19 of current Flash serries, specifically end of it and you'll see it for yourself. Energy impulse. Eobard regaining his memory and escaping.

Wow, my mistake man, I had totally forgotten that it happened at the end of the issue. It's just that Williamson's run so far has been so forgettable that I remember just major things from it.

I've read the Flash since 1985-ish, Williamson's is one of the better runs since probably Geoff Johns was writing it. Opinions are opinions I guess, no matter how good something is there will be folks that hate it.

Get your wallets out (especially for the Venom one). These always spike early and fast. LCS's are going to be pushing the prices of these up before they hit the stands...

While the sales numbers for this title continue to look high on the comiccron report, the number of copies sitting on the 3 LCS I visit on the regular is deep.

That's the problem with Comiccron, it only reflects what the retailers order, not what sells. You have to wonder if the titles were switched and Doom headlined Invincible while Riri headlined Infamous if the numbers for both titles wouldn't be exactly the same...

Doesn't matter, Marvel has been doing me a favor by swapping out my favorite characters for replacements. I'm not worried about the "gap" in my Hulk collection until that terrible book (I really tried to like it, its just so hard to like Cho in this role...) gets reset and the gap in my Iron Man collection is only helping (Thanks for re-numbering every new series! No more gotta catch em all drive!") my new DC buying surge.

Man, Superman and Nightwing are just the shizz... right now. Every Batman title is great. Flash is great. Deathstroke is great. Teen Titans is great. Twice a month with great writing and consistent art? Take my money WB!

My wife battled Breast Cancer. I stopped reading this bc I felt they made a mockery of how serious cancer is. How has the book been recently regarding her cancer?? I guess at this point she does not even bother with the treatments any longer??

I got my wife more seriously into comics a few years back when we got engaged (about 5 years back). Its been difficult to get her into superhero comics, as she finds stuff from Image and other indie stuff more her speed. I do have female friends that are into superheroes, but they make up less than 3/4 of the women into comics I know. Most of them like Image stuff, indie stuff, Manga, etc

Her mother died of breast cancer about 10 years ago. I made the mistake of thinking (She)Thor might be a good "strong female lead" for her to follow. She was so offended by it, it took a long time before I could get her to try another Marvel based book...

Ok...

I've been a Sam hater, like a hardcore "Rich is my Nova, I'm boycotting Jeff Loeb and his terribleness" kinda guy from the start, but...

This book is awesome. I love Sam in this book as much as getting Rich back is amazing. The first issue was kinda "bleh", but issue 2? Issue 2 was the best book I read this week (over a lot of my favorite Rebirth titles). I love what they are doing with this book.

Every time I'm on the brink of pulling my hair out with Marvel, they give me something like this.

I wouldn't buy it if it was Janet, so I wasn't the target audience to begin with. I can understand them wanting a younger wasp as Marvel is trying to get young readers involved in comics, unfortunately the age of the characters isn't as much of an issue as the cost of the comics is to getting young readers involved.

3.99 -> 4.99 an issue for a child is rough. I'm an adult who reads comics and cannot understand how other adults with more responsibilities (like kids) can afford to be comic fans anymore. TO stay up to date with all of the titles I read, my monthly comic bill is around $150 on average.

But correct me if I am wrong, there is but a few issues of GotG left under Bendis (and then another renumbering?). And it looks like these last few aren't even an arc, just a book for each character and what they are doing post Civil War II (which I refused to read).

There will be 3 more issues and after #18 Bendis, has told in interviews, that he will craft a special farewell-issue which should be about OGN-sized I.E 80-100 pages in which (presumably) most unused plot points and arches from his runs will come to fore and unite the Guardians to face it in an explosive super-sized final issue (By Bendis' words, not mine).

That will probably have a cover price of $9.99...

@ezekael: Yeah, 'Most Dangerous Woman in the Universe" and 'damsel in distress' really don't go well together. Her and Ronan were my biggest qualms about an otherwise awesome movie. (I can get over Yondu since he is now the 616 version and 691 Yondu can stay the same).

I'm not going to lie, the change to Yondu was one I actually really liked. I'm happy they made this a "different person" though to keep fans of the original Yondu happy while still giving us a great new take on an older idea.

GOTG is probably my favorite of the MCU representations, and it made the most changes to characters I was already a fan of. To me this just proves that changing characters for the movies isn't always a bad thing if handled properly. Gamora's "weakness" and making Drax a bit too silly (though that's better than moron, comic relief Drax from the 90's) were my only major gripes. I didn't love what they did to Ronan, but I didn't really hate it either. The zealotry to me was kinda taking his huge pride in the Kree empire (a truly "Lawful Neutral" character if we are talking super-nerdy terminology here) and making him more sinister to give the mass audience more reason to see him as truly villainous made sense at least.

I joke about the Chris Pratt-ism of Star-Lord, "Hooked on a feeling", and Disney (Baby) Groot, but I'm honestly super excited for the sequel to come out.

@ezekael: She wrote the original script for GOTG.

I'll be giving a pass to this book because it clearly isn't about Comics Gamora since Nebula is there.

Thanks for the info on Perlman. I'm going to check this out (Gamora is one of my favorites, dating back to Infinity Watch) but I get where you are coming from o the Nebula thing. The movie pretty much caused the entire Gaurdians universe to get retconned. They actually poked fun at this in the Drax series when Cammy showed up.

Nebula is a comic character that existed before the movies.

Who had nothing to do with Gamora's backstory (which is what I assumed was sinikettu's point). Their shared association with Thanos existed, but their " interpersonal relationship" came from the movies.

Not to mention how Thanos almost killed Nebula on the spot when she claimed to be his granddaughter, Nebula also wasn't bald and sporting a metal arm before 2014-movie.

Nebula did indeed have implants on her head and arm since the early 90's and through Annihilation. There is much in the comics referenced about a past between Thanos and Nebula, although it's never truly explored.

It's the same with Gamora. There's only a handful of showings of young Gamora with Thanos.

There's plenty of room in the comics for Nebula to be there with Thanos and Gamora. It would finally be putting decades old pieces together and give depth to two really cool characters. I have no idea what you guys are talking about with a retcon of anything here. The only character really being majorly affected from the movie is Star-Lord.

I'm surprised that the writer here also worked on the screenplay. This is more like the Gamora I know, not the meek version we got in the movie. Hopefully that will translate back into the next movie.

Based on the previews of the second movie, looks like more of that same personality. The only real problem I had with it was how "damsel in distress" she was in multiple scenes (the prison, the Knowhere fight). Gamora is a badass... if anything it would make more sense for her to be saving Peter...
