I'm pretty sure she's white lol.

Still badass though.

Compromise, the MCU is low on Latinos.

LMFAO

True she is but I think changing a characters gender from script to film is a bigger change then skin color. If you want a smaller change in a comic movie how about Kingpin in the Fox Daredevil movie. MCD is a dead ringer for Kingpin I never heard a single complaint that he was black. Hell most people say he was the best part of the movie and they bitch at the miscasting of Ben Afleck.

@nite_nite: I have issues with Will being cast as DS but that is just because I see them changing the character to be more likable because he doesn't really play heartless characters, but he could surprise me.

One thing I can tell you, is many people get emotionally attached and sometimes the easiest thing to do when they don't like the casting is to bring up the fact the characters skin color is changed. I hate the reactionary society we are now, because I don't believe its how people actually feel more or less a rage fueled snap shot of the person at the time.

@br_havoc: it's not discussions about keeping characters a certain race, which I assume you mean as "background".

It's just white guys complaining about white characters created by other white guys, now being cast by actors that may fit the personality but aren't white- therefore aren't "right". Screaming racism and biased yet forgetting the people making these decisions are white guys. But if that's what these guys think is racism and unfair, I wish they were mysteriously turned "black" for a few years. That'll do it.

I honestly think people don't give a damn about race when that actor fits the character and you can tell the change is organic its when it seems like they are pandering people dislike it. Johnny Storm is a good example people didn't care that Micheal B Jordan was black what they cared about is they changed the origin and that got people mad ( Plus the movie sucked so that did no favors either), so many non comic book news sites saw that as white nerds spewing racism when some where racist but others where just mad that blood siblings got changed for no real reason other then to be different.

I think many fans want an actor to play a character that has the look and personality of that character and skin color is something is trivial if that character has the look. Kingpin in the original Daredevil is a good example, No one cared that MCD was black because he looked like Kingpin and had the personality. So if they can do the same with Danny with say a blonde Iko Uwais or Byung-Hun Lee people shouldn't care. Then again this is just all my opinion.

Kylo is a character hindered by bad writing. That last act of the movie was not written all that well and Kylo was the biggest victim his credibility went out the window along with his intimidation factor. People should not have to make excuses for a villain, the last scene was just poorly planned and to save the character from the damage they did ( His helmet removal should of only happened with his dad) Abrams should of had him get one hit on Rey having her show promise and some force powers and then have the planet break separating them, but we did not get that, we got a badly written fight scene and final 1/4. I think Abrams knew the last scene was a miss so he constantly beat us over the head with reminding us that the Blaster Chewie carries is really powerful.

Part of the character is his outsider nature that he is not welcomed into that culture because he is an outsider, so him being white did make some sense ( Even if writers had to make it make sense). With that said all of that could be done if say he was Korean and had Japanese martial arts training.

I'm kind of getting sick of these discussions where now every character we have to some how fight to change there race or defend them so they can stay the race they where created. Lets just cast the best people, and if there is no white actors that fit the bill but an Asian actor that has the personality the give him the role ( And that goes for any character and any race).

@life_without_progress: The only person who should feel sorry is JJ for writing him so poorly. As soon as his mask came off in the interrogation he lost all credibility as a villain and that trend continued with how the final fight played out.

Grievous would beat this kid badly, He has defeated fully trained Jedi masters, something Kylo is not, I'm sure everything Kylo can do Grievous has seen and was trained to counter.

I would go with any of these three series that have already been recommended. Bioshock ( every game is amazing and my favorite series of all times), The Batman Arkham games or Kingdom Hearts.

Yeah, I get that it's supposed to be satire but its bad satire. Then again I could just be sick of people acting like race means anything, Judge people on character not color .

He is good friends with Didio and we have learned long ago that writing comics talent means very little its who you know. Look at all the sub par writers that are working at the big 2 now or how many rookies go straight to the big two without ever writing a comic before.
