PLOT!:

So with April fast approaching and marvel reaking of desperation to get people hyped up for their NEXT BIG EARTH SHATTERING EVENT! (Which they have not said it, but give it time.) The Avengers are facing off against the X-men because of the Phoenix Force is coming for the earth and Hope is the center of it. Why? because marvel lacks originality and must have a red head to inhabit for the sake of consistency. So the decision of the Cyclops to use hope as a possible Genesis bomb to re-ignite the mutant gene in all dormant powered mutant. Here is the reason why he came to this decision. If anyone has read any mythos on the creature known as the phoenix (Mythology 101): The phoenix is a fiery bird who is known in folk lore as a birth of death and rebirth. From its own ashes it is born anew. but its not just that. but the tears of the phoenix apparently have the power to bring back a person to life. while the whole stories of how the phoenix brings back someone to life may vary, the end result is still the same. that through some supernatural method of the phoenix a person or person is made whole again. And that is the idea which marvel is trying to pass off in this pointless fighting.

So as far as we know Captain America and Iron Man are on paranoid mode (for good reason) that if the phoenix were to show up it would have the potential to destroy not just this solar system but the galaxy as well. With Cap and Tin-man's know how to break through the 4th wall can realise that the writers need a red head to be host to the phoenix force (with exceptions to the Phoenix:Warsong). So best possible thing is contain Hope summers as she is the only red headed Empathic mutant around. So im guessing Cap gives Cykes the option to hand her over or they would take her by force. but at this time i would imagine Hope is trying to "Find" herself in the good old fashioned teen angst way.

Predictions:

SO the fights that are about to go down in the first round Though they have not given us the immediate line up they have given us tons of teaser images which is supposed to give you an imagination of the battles. Based on the powers used by both teams it would seem that they both have some super heavy hitters that will get through the first round. most of them being Magneto,Colossus (Colos-ernaut or is it Jug-ossus?), Spider-man, Captain America, Thor, Namor, Cyclops. The Mutants would have a slight advantage depending on how the first round turns out. More than likely the first round will have even number of fights (say 6) with the first round ending in a tie. the second round will consist of the survivors and others who were not taking part in any of the fights before. so if anything they will try to space out the heavy hitters for each round as not to front load the entire series.

Here is where im going to get some flack. In terms of story though, The fights only happen as Hope has run off and its a chase around the world to find her and bring her in. the first one to catch her is the first one to decide the fate of the earth and the use of the phoenix force. But with that being said Im winning to bet the phoenix force will be on earth and posses an X-man or Avenger and force them to fight their counter part. Thus SUPER powering the super hero. In the end my prediction is that Scarlet witch will try to be the host of the phoenix force but Hope ends up being host but manages to control it for a bit. With scarlet witch around, hope uses her power with a phoenix force super boost to create a whole new generation of mutants with the mutant gene that has been laying dormant in many humans. With somehow i would imagine the FF already having a plan to extract and expel the phoenix force and send it away from earth... till the next event.

Buy or Not?:

Probably not. ill get the first round and decide from there.
