Onoli

Origin

Onoli is a naturally born were-lion raised in Jade realm, with all the normal strengths and weaknesses of were-folk. He is very level headed and is a gentle but firm leader.

Creation

Fred Perry created Onoli and the other members of the Northern Edge Guard as both representatives of other were-cat clans and as a homage to the cartoon Thundercats (of which Onoli is an anagram for Lion-o).

Character Evolution

Onoli has primarily evolved in 2 ways: his leadership skills, and his attunement to his equipment.

He took over leadership of the Northern Edge Guard when the previous leader Gaja died. Since then he has continued to improve his general leadership skills and his ability to manage the personalities of his teammates.

He continues to improve his attunement with his elemental weapons, the katanas Seraphim and Necro. This has allowed him to unlock additional powers both when combining them together and when combining them with the elemental weapons of his teammates.

Powers and Abilities

Lycanthropy

In the Gold Digger universe, all were-folk are the result of permanent magical enchantments on a human's aura which are passed on either through children or the intentional transmission of bodily fluids (usually a bite). Anyone "infected" rather than born with lycanthropy is made a "thrall" of the one who infected them for some amount of time. Were-folk possess the standard abilities of enhanced physical attributes, the ability to freely shapeshift between human/hybrid/animal forms, rapid healing against non-magical damage, and weakness against damage from magic, silver, or other were-folk's fangs/claws. Due to heavy drain on their aura from their enchantments, most were-folk find it very difficult to become spell-casters.

Enhanced Strength

All were-lions possess strength enhanced beyond the norm for were-cats, making them almost as strong as a were-wolf. Onoli's training has increased this even further by a significant degree.

Skills

Onoli is competent leader with an awareness of the strengths and weaknesses of each member of his team including his own. He is also a good tactician, able to grasp a situation and make decisions, though he can not match Thropan's raw intellect. Finally he is an expert warrior both with his hands and wielding his elemental weapons, though both Gar and Tirga are better fighters.

Equipment and Weapons

Elemental Weapons

Onoli's elemental weapons are a pair of katana-like swords, called Seraphim and Necro. Seraphim possesses holy, healing powers, while Necro is the opposite. With practice, improved attunement, and meditation, Onoli continues to unlock additional abilities when using these weapons together and/or in combination with his fellow teammates' weapons.

Edge Guard Jasper of Leadership

Onoli is current owner of the Edge Guard Jasper of Leadership, a large green gem. This gem is in fact the the external form of Rain, one of three "hard ships" created by Ancient Gina and used by the trio of ancient races from the previous universe to escape its collapse. Rain is the hard ship which transported the race called the Gardeners. With attunement and meditation, Onoli has been able to perceive the inside of the hard ship as an idyllic garden tended by Gaja's spirit with whom he can talk and seek advice.
