Ch. 1 cliffhanger ending - This is a very rare instance in this series in which the cliffhanger does not include Nyoka. As a panther is about to jump on young Peter Pippingworth, the boy backs up to the edge of a cliff and suddenly finds himself falling off the cliff...
Ch. 2 cliffhanger ending - After Vic knocks Nyoka out by hitting her with the butt of his rifle, Blimey ties her up with rope. Then he puts a torch close to Nyoka and says that when the fire burns itself out, the leopard will return and take care of her. Soon the leopard does return and Nyoka says, "Once that torch burns out I'm a goner. That leopard is gaining courage by the second!"
