Quick question. I've fallen behind somewhat in my Lantern based books but I was wondering if the Pale Vicars are essentially the Grey Lantern Corps?

I think a better term for them would be "Anti-Lanterns".

As for the question, i don't think so, as we know that every lantern corps uses a special atribute of emotional spectrum(Green Lanters - the willpower, Blue Lanters - Hope and etc..), while Pale Vicars use different type of powers, and those powers are not connected to any of the powers of the emotional spectrum.

They're described as being anti emotion so I wouldn't define them as the Grey Lantern Corps personally. Their powers and tech don't seem connected to the emotional spectrum.

@lvenger: @mazeraiii: Yeah but willpower isn't even an emotion. Apathy would actually be closer to one and what the Grey Vicars seem to want. But as you say if there is no entity in the emotional spectrum powering them then you are probably right.

@jonny_anonymous: Technically no it's not though Johns must have thought willpower sounded a better name for the emotion of the Green Lantern Corps than courage. To my knowledge there's no entity or emotion which powers them, it seems to be the absence of emotion that fuels them despite that they have a Guardian to their organisation.

@lvenger: What about the Black Lanterns? They don't have an entity do they?

    Isn't their entity the Nekron?

I think Nekron was supposed to be the Black Lanterns' equivalent of a Guardian. Black Hand is their entity.

@jonny_anonymous: It's just described as anti emotion energy I believe. Will look at some earlier issues of Bunn's Sinestro run to see if it mentions more info.
