Gerard Way is writing an all-new Doom Patrol series for DC Comics as part of a new imprint he's overseeing called "Young Animal," announced Thursday afternoon at the Emerald City Comicon. The series will be illustrated by Nick Derington; it's unknown if the project is related to the previousDoom Patrol series with Becky Cloonan he pitched previously.
"It's really weird," Way said. "It'll pay tribute not just to Grant Morrison's famed run of the series, but the history of Doom Patrol."
Additional series from DC's Young Animal imprint are Shade, The Changing Girl by writer Cecil Castellucci and artist Marley Zarcone, Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye by writers Way, John Rivera and artist Michael Avon Oeming, and Mother Panic by writer Jody Houser and artists Tommy Lee Edwards and John Paul Leon.
