Photo of Stephen Amell as Casey Jones Released

TMNT 2 has started production, and Michael Bay's website has been releasing pictures from the set. Today, he released the first picture of the Arrow star Stephen Amell as the hockey masked vigilante and friend of the Ninja Turtles, Casey Jones.

That hockey mask is a bit intimidating, but having Amell play this part is the "no duh" moment of the year. This is the third time we'll be seeing Casey in a live-action Turtles film, with Elias Koteas playing the role in the first and third installments in the 90s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.

TMNT 2 will be directed by David Green and should be in theaters on June 3, 2016.

Looks good, glad they weren't going for a more armored look. Little disappointed they didn't cast someone a bit younger.

People say it's a big mask. My question is: is it a big mask or is it because the picture is from a three-quarter view?

hell of a mask, and is that Raph's sai? Guess these 2 are gonna clash just like the first live action movie.

The costume is a non-factor for me. We know the flick has no chance of having decent plot, pacing, tone, theme, or characterization.

I'm so over caring.

And no, I'm not a butthurt purist. I just want quality. Unless this goes against the grain as to be unrecognizable as a sequel to its predecessor, I doubt this will even meet let alone exceed mediocrity.

I think Stephen Amell will be perfect for this show. Yes i know as Arrow he isnt fun guy but in real life is nice and funny guy.

They got the turtle's characterizations pretty well done in the first one (even if most of the rest of it not so much) so hopefully they nail Casey's character too.

That's... actually a really good idea. The dude was really wooden in some roles, but he looks the part and I think his performances have improved.

Is it too much to hope for that the people in charge'll abandon April/Megan at the wayside as a lost cause, and just focus on Casey and the Turtles? I mean really, they should just focus on the turtles, with the human characters being the supporting cast, but we all know THAT'S not going to happen.

This is awesome but why would he be needed if there's super strong, bullet proof, ninja turtles running around the place?

His mask is way huge. Although, I liked to see him square off against Jason Voorhees. That would be cool to watch.
