The Avengers are sent in to deal with violent riots over Mutant freedom. The X-Men show up and ask the Avengers to leave before bad things happen. Taking this as a threat the Avengers get ready to fight.

Well the Avengers are way better and that's clearly all that matters

the only problems that count are:

scarlet witch, hulk, thor, vision, quiksilver, Giantman, Spiderman

Xavier, Magneto, Jean Grey, MTW( megawhatever) (they need deadpool even ifits not an xmen)

after them they are all weaklings

X-Men should win just because of Xavier who can basically freeze everybody besides Vision, and if Magneto is able to control Vibranium, this goes for the X-Men, but if Erik can not control vibranium Vision can pretty much one shot most of the X-Men.

X-Men team. Half of the Avengers team wear metal and Erik will deal with that in an instant and they got Xavier who can basically just freeze them all amd let the Mutants do work.

@mathias74: doesn't matter, Jean grey is there and she can do the same. You have several omega mutants with plenty of alpha mutants on there to deal with any threats that are not instantly destroyed by Jean and magneto.

Fox quicksilver alone is going to instantly take out the majority of the team. They had enough trouble with mcu quicksilver who was literally slow compared to fox's. Fox's makes bullets look like they are standing still, mcu got tagged by bullets twice, the second time.

Anyone that is not dealt with by Magento, iceman, storm and Jean Ie the Omegas. Will have to contend with the bfr capabilities of blink. The massive amount of firepower from the likes of havoc and cyclops. The lower tiers of the avengers can't hang with wolverine, kitty, Rogue, mystique and colossus.

This fight comes down to hulk, thor, and maybe giant man vs the entire xmen. Giving thor the benefit of the doubt that magneto can't take his hammer. And resists tp, he still has to fight through far too much firepower.

Hulk can be impaled, or cut or sacrifice colossus to grab him and then have Magento fastball special him to the moon.and that is if for some reason mystique can't confuse him by pretending to be black widow, after jean has learned his weakness from probing all their mInes.

Giant man, giant lightning rod. Or ice circle, or just gets holes blown in him by cyclops.

The bottom line is x men have better teamwork, better communication and a telepath to learn and exploit enemy weakness.

Do they have any knowledge of one another? Like have they seen footage on the news/have heard rumors? If so this could be interesting.

If Quicksilver knows Magneto could be the deciding factor in this match and goes for him the second it starts the X-Men are in trouble. But as you've added Quicksilver to the X-Men team as well... that changes things. Magneto is always pretty iffy because he has the potential to do practically anything. If I were him the first thing I'd do is fancy myself some vibranium armor by dismantling Vision, and with the force he can wield metal with he could knock pretty much anyone out with Thor's hammer or Cap's shield after he has crushed anyone wearing metal.

How likely that all is to happen in the first instant is always in the air though. Same goes for Antman... could spell disaster for the X-Men if he immediately goes small and starts damaging people's brains. Pretty out of character though.

Arguably every single one on the Avenger's team has something made of metal on them (even Spider-Man probably with his web shooters which are on his vital wrists). Only Hulk doesn't, and I do not think Magneto is dumb enough to underestimate a screaming monster of that size and would crush him with any other metal available. Well and Quicksilver but I reckon his counterpart would duke it out with him.

Even if he doesn't there's still Colossus who would be difficult to put down, and Blink adds a lot of potential. The X-Men were clearly trained to utilize her at their advantage while The Avengers haven't.

Then there's the Quicksilver vs. Quicksilver argument but I don't want to touch that for the sake of the thread.

So I guess the X-Men could take the majority, but it mostly depends on Magneto though.

How is a featless being w/ no experience even comparable to the likes of the rest?

X-Men wins. People like Mags, Iceman, Jean Grey should be enough to take care of Iron Man, Thor and Hulk, while the likes of Colossus, Quicksilver, Cyclops, Logan etc make short work of the other street levellers

Scenarios can be created for both sides, but I tend to think the X-Men get the majority. I'm due to see AOU again, but if I remember Scarlett Witch actually gave Thor insight rather than manipulating him? If that's not the case, it becomes much harder on the Avengers. Like I said, I'm overdue to re-watch.

Amazing how the X-Men are crushing the Avengers in this argument. I never thought they were this powerful. Guess I've gotta rewatch the movies

I think it's the combination of Magneto and Xavier, with Jean for added pop. Although, it is possible Thor uses a quick lighting strike and Charles and Eric are down immediately. Good thread and a lot of good discussion so far.

if they separe thor from his hammer, he´s not too strong, I think Jean Grey can take care of he hulk, xavier can finish with quiksilver inside his mind, so he´s speed doesn´t count, and scarlet witch is VERY VERY STRONG she can be a problem I think it wouldn´t be easy for xavier to use his telekinesis on her and she can manipulate thing as phoenix or magneto

but, can magneto control thor´s hammer or the vision with his powers?

@comicvinero: vibranium and thors hammer are some form of metal, and magneto has shown no limit at all to the metals he has manipulated over the course of his career.

I see no reason weapons being enchanted or otherwise would make a differance for weather or not he could control it.......
