Can DCEU Superman tank this?
Any proof? He almost died from a simple nuke.
nuke ins`t only hit wave, there is also radiation
Any proof? He almost died from a simple nuke.
almost die? he was able to fight against doomsday 10 minutes after he get atomic bomb from point blank.
also justice league superman >>>> superman from batman vs superman.
shame.
He dies instantly.
only in your fanboy dreams.
Uhh probably tank it. That feat wasn't just Thor, I think that it involved the machine more than Thor. Don't know haven't seen the movie in a while.

He was a skeleton after getting hit by it. And was healed by the sun later on. Rewatch the movie.
Justice league Superman is the same Superman. Even gets knocked back by bullets the same way.

Um, Thor was in the center of explosion and tanked it without a scratch. This feat is many magnitudes above tanking a nuke (which Superman barely did).
Probably. Both a statement from FRIDAY and behind the scenes statements said that the city of Sokovia was about 2 km wide. The nuke Superman was severely injured by was most likely either a W-78 or a W-87 if we consider the real US military’s arsenal, standards, etc. If it was a W-78, we’re looking at 335-350 kilotons. If it was a W-87, we’re looking at 300 kilotons to 475 kilotons. That’s quite a lot of power, could probably cause more than a hundred times the bombs that brought great destruction to Hiroshima and Nagasaki (cities that, when examining measurements, honestly seem like they may be bigger than Sokovia was stated to be). We also have to factor in that Superman may not be immune to radiation, which the nuke would have… but Thor not so much.
I think Superman would survive it, but if he took the full force of the damage directly he probably wouldn’t feel very good after. It didn’t take the sun very long to fix the damage of the nuke though, and probably wouldn’t take it very long to fix this either.
I’ve never seen a LA high tier get low balled as much as thor does lmao. Bro just said it’s a feat for the machine and not thor 😂😂😂
Yeah, like wtf, lmao.

no I mean the whole reason the city exploded was because of the machine no? Thor used his lighting on the vibranium machine that ultron made. I was under the assumption that he was talking about the lighting that Thor shot.

They may have had more length or width but the falling city was more than a lot of buildings for the explosion to blow apart, it was a massive landmass that, for all intents and purposes, was a meteorite. Obliterating a landmass like that requires incredible power, more than a low-yield nuclear bomb.
yes
Based on the WE feat and eating Doomsday's island vaping AOE I think he'll take this just fine
The one that even Batman survived by hiding under a stone plate? And the one Lois survived while doing nothing?
That trash attack destroyed a few buildings nearby at best.
@the_gaurdian: Island "vaping"? Are you sure you understand what you are stating? As in, Doomsday vaporized the entire island completely?
@spidermanx7l: He vaporized the surface of it for sure as there was nothing but flames and destroyed rock from buildings.
@soldierboymvp: They survived by hiding underneath surfaces the AOE couldn't reach but if we're really gonna play this game then Superman completely no sells this based off the fact that the explosion couldn't kill Iron Man.
No. It was ~1.2e+23 joules of energy. Literally over 83 million times the amount of energy that fried Superman.

Rewatch the movie... Batman didn't hide underneath the surface. He literally just went behind a stone plate a few meters way. That was ON SAME SURFACE LEVEL. Doomsday didn't vaporize anything. Not even that tiny stone plate. And many buildings nearby were still intact after it. Lois was close and some stones just collapsed a little bit where she was standing.
This attack just crumbled a few random buildings nearby. That's it. Learn what vaporizing entire island actually means.
Tha'ts not how it works. Sokovia was completely annihilated. You can't compare it even in the slightest with the shitty dodgy Doomsday aoe that crumbled a few buildings nearby. That didn't even destroy a small stone plate few tens of meters away.
In Sokovia's case nothing was left of the city.
If a character tanked complete destruction of a city landmass then it only shows how durable the character is.
But Iron Man wasn't at the center of explosion point blank anyway. Like Thor.
Tony was underneath the landmass. Still impressive but nowhere near close to what Thor tanked.
@soldierboymvp: Seems like you already had an answer made up before you even made the thread lol. Regardless I don't even have to send an essay back because I have enough common sense to know that an AOE that can be seen from low orbit>>>> an explosion that just made even bigger chunks of dirt. More importantly The World Engine busting a mountain by landing walks all over sokovia and Clark busted it while weakened. He eats Sokovia and goes on about his day
@the_gaurdian: AOE≠AP. What matters is the damage that is done.
@spidermanx7l: Well the World Engine mountain busted on screen and according to the canon novel also surface wipes the entire island while leaving a crater and mile high dust cloud yet Superman busted it with his face so he's eating the Sokovia blast no matter what
you don't know where he was and based on his consistent showings, even earlier in the same movie he was cut by far less than this explosion, drastically less. He got womped by Ultron and was bleeding.
It's likely he flew out of that explosion and didn't stay in it.
No sells
Sokovia isn't remotely comparable to a nuclear explosion even if someone claims it released more energy than a nuke. The blast characteristics of a nuke is very different. An earthquake releases energy millions of times more than a nuke and yet it doesn't vaporize you. Same thing
@Aristeaus: you do realise making hollow buildings fall over isn't the same as blowing up a thick landmass? Sokovia is basically an inverted mountain.
Island vaping AOE Jesus Christ
It's not an island, it's a chunk of a city. Don't know why people keep assuming it's island sized.
