Can Boros destroy a planet?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
This is a two sided argument and has already been settled.
If manga version is being used, then yes he can destroy a planet with his ultimate attack.
If anime version, he can blast away the surface of a planet but not necessarily the entire planet.
@ sup3rn0va : Didn't One say that Boros can destroy?
@narutoto: It's a common discussion for boros in the past but it has been settled that it's a mistranslation. It's gotten so convoluted that it's just been agreed upon that we should just follow the translation depending on which medium to follow; anime or manga.
Note: I had it backwards. Manga says he shaves planet surface, anime says planet bust.
Using science he can’t
Conservation of mass and gravity prove so
Saitama can stand on earth, meaning he’s weight is below that of the earths
He can punch a blast from Boros away
Hence the earth must have enough mass if he’s still standing on earth to be completely unaffected by Boros
@sup3rn0va: Come on it makes perfect sense
As you stand your weight has a force down and the earth creates a reaction force in the opposite direction which is why you don’t sink into the ground
When saitama did a serious punch the force of the serious punch produced a shockwave in the forward direction but the reaction force would’ve been through his body
The fact saitama isn’t moved by the reaction force of he’s punch means that someone capable of creating that amount of force can deflect the punch without being effect by the reaction force
The fact saitama can perform a serious punch on the ground with out being moved by the reaction force of he’s punch means the earth is producing a force greater than the resultant force of the punch and gravity
Meaning the force of the serious punch shouldn’t be more than the force of the earth
Edit: If saitama could produce a force greater from his serious punch than the reaction force of the earth then he would sink into the ground a lot as in he’s end up in the earth mantle, but the earths reaction force is able to handle the resultant (gravity + reaction force of serious punch) reaction force of the punch

It might make sense, but this is exactly why you should never use so much real life science when it comes to debating. I mean it's literally impossible for matter to move faster than light and yet its a common occurrence in fiction.
Not if we go by feats
I think he *could*, however until he does, he gets no credit for it.
These
He doesn’t have the feat only a statement. And the statement is by him which is unreliable at best.
Also no one else is OPM has a planet level feat (or even close) so we can’t even scale him to planet level in any manner.
*sigh* The argument that "it's a mistranslation" is woefully inaccurate and such an overused and contrived statement that it's lost all meaning in a debate. For one, the kanji used to describe the level of power Boros had in each form is the same in all three stages from Base-Armored, Unarmored and Final Form. The kanji translates as "star". It's meaning can refer to a planetary body or celestial object. So it's more commonly interpreted to mean a planet in such context.
The issue here is the fact it's used three times while also describing how Boros' power increases with each state he's in. It makes no sense for him to start at planet-level, to increase to planet-level and then reach his full power at...planet-level. It literally and narratively makes no sense. And the claim that "the visuals don't support it" is a misleading statement as we know that Saitama effectively neutered the attack with his own.
Boros is star-level at his maximum, no matter how you feel he's represented between each medium. The Databack was made by interviewing ONE and taking his word and notes, along with the anime and manga to make a general conclusion. If Boros is planet-level in his starting form, then his final form would be considerably stronger. It's more accurate to say he's small-moderate planet-level on his base, moderate-large in his unarmored state and small star-level in his strongest form.
Te "but he never destroyed a planet" argument doesn't fly. Goku never busted a planet, but countered a planet-buster way back in the Saiyan Saga. We never say Vegeta legit blow up a planet. That was filler. So we had no proof he could do so. So why were they both stated as planet-busters? Guide Books.
@reikai: Other people in DBZ who Goku scales to have destroyed a planet (and more). That is not at all the case with Boros so your argument holds no water.
We can’t rely on statements from characters about there own power without feats or confirmation to back it up. If you don’t agree this really isn’t the place for you to be debating.
Yes, same as Whitebeard can destroy the world, Madara's susanoo can destroy all things in the universe and stars are nothing compared to Barragan Louisenbarn.

The three times stating planet level is about Boros in general, his meteoric burst form and collapsing star roaring cannon attack. None of them says he is already a planet buster in base. Boros did mention that he was releasing all his energy (only) to wipe the surface for collapsing star roaring cannon, so it's hard to justify star level. However he was significantly fatigued from fighting Saitama and regenerating from mere blood, so his full power is likely around planet level still.

It doesn't matter. At that time, no one had displayed planet busting. The only thing proving Goku and Vegeta were planet-busters in the Saiyan Saga were the guide books. You missed the point entirely.
The three times stating planet level is about Boros in general,
Wrong. They specifically were exploring and explaining each of Boros' forms when using this descriptor.
Is Spider-Man’s statement about Sentry stalemating Galactus something we should take seriously?
i can believe some statements, but I'll never believe that.
