Hope they stick the landing, this has arguably been the best event since probably Civil War.

I wish it was like how I expected, an event similar to a Crisis that leads to removing continuity. That's just me though... did anyone else love that varient with Peter and Miles?

this should be an example for Marvel....they and all other comic companies need to get their release dates in order....imo the writers of events should have to have their completed scripts turned in before the first issue is even solicited

Aren't most characters picking up exactly where they left off pre Secret Wars?

boy I am glad that this was delayed, because if i saw that without knowing what happened i would think they were killing off my beloved Spiderman (probably in favor of Miles) and that (as crazy as it sounds for a fictional character) would be devastating for me. Also, the main Secret Wars series and many of the standalone series have been great and I am interested to see how it ends.

Note they didn't specify what year, just that it would be out in the month of January. So we could be talking any January in the next few years or even in the next decade.

Also note the upped the price to five dollars. I don't know which is worse, the greed or the sloppy scheduling

When the series started i was so pumped, like many others. I bought every tie in/battleworld book i could get my paws on. I couldn't get enough. due to this being so drawn out, i stopped caring after issue 4. I am collecting each issue, and i will make my judgement when i can read them all in one sitting.

I stopped buying the tie in's after the first month. I was reading one night, thinking to my self........ why am i reading this crap!?? There are a few i want to go back to, and maybe i will one day when there is a massive omni.

Not that it matters, just my 2 pesos.

Also, i will be crucified for this. His art is great, but i just do not care for my super hero books to look like this. Im prepared for the hateful comments, i just do not love it for super hero art. Im a much more traditional superhero art kind of guy. I think i would enjoy his art on a really cool violent midevil/viking series. (one that has nothing to do with dc marvel or heroes and villians)

I am more interested in how they are gonna resolve the Fantastic Family. From what I've seen from the All new Marvel, doesn't give me much hope and we get the 'Beautiful' Doom in Ironman while Reed, Sue and the kids are always referred as ''gone''... Will Marvel kill them off just and save Doom ? Which would be a tragedy.

Well I know SW isnt a reboot like everybody was saying back in the day but......does it really achieved something?

I say that because from what i've heard not many changes were consecuences of SW but instead are normal (if you can call an 8 month time jump normal) progression of each series stories; it doesnt sound SW was a one of those Marvel's world changer events they have a couple times a year

The problem is I know this will be anti-climactic because the build up has lacked any major developments ion the last 5 issues.

I'd say it's in the middle. For some parts of the universe it's shaking out to be more than a regular event, but for others this is just a time jump. Thinking about it there are three types of books coming out now.

If you look at books like Spider-Gwen, Spider-Woman, All-New Hawkeye, and many of the books that are being picked up after their All-New Marvel Now runs, they're just continuations of the previous volumes.

Some books mention Secret Wars, like the current Invincible Iron Man series seems to be leading into deal with the fallout of the event, while the Ultimates is a book that within the first issue kind of explained what Secret Wars meant to the Marvel landscape, speaking on the idea of iterations of the universe (I'd highly recommend picking up the first issue of this just to see how Ewing explains it).

And lastly there are books that are a direct result of Secret Wars. Miles Morales coming into the 616 in the upcoming Spider-Man from the Ultimate universe is one example. We also have the Old Man Logan series coming that couldn't have happened without the event and some weird irrational time travel (I get the irony of me proposing that the time travel is irrational and not the battle battleworld scenario). For something that is going to be right around the corner, the Squadron Supreme series preview that came out this past week shows that each member of that team is from a different universe than the 616 and that they remember their past and what happened pre-Secret Wars.

So, yeah. For some books, depending on what you're reading, Secret Wars didn't do a whole lot of anything to change where the books were going. But there are a handful that have come out of the event or were changed by it.

Aww

And what happened to real ultimate peter?

Why did the have to destroy E1610? I mean they didn't destroy a lot of other earths. Why 1610? Why not try and make it better?
Marvel baffles me with their big events.

He tells Aunt May, Gwen, and Mary Jane that he intends to go on a quest to find out the truth behind his resurrection, but later meets with Mary Jane and they drive away to live a quiet life together.

As much as i loved the Ultimate universe, most characters were dead or evil, the regular MU already adopted all the improvement the UU created, and it just seemed like they were running out of ideas. Better to end on a okay note then to make it worse by trying to fix it (although Ultimate End is really bad sadly).

@machomustachio: I think there was a plot line worth exploring about Peter's resurrection. Or maybe this is what they intended to do with peter in clone saga.
