    Zerbrowski is a member of the Regional Preternatural Investigation Task force (RPIT) under Sergeant Rudolph Storr. His clothes rarely match, his tie is always at half mast, and his hair always looks like he just woke up, but he is one of the best detectives on the squad.

    Zerbrowski is known mostly on the team for giving civilian expert, Anita Blake, a hard time by flirting and making jokes, but his attempts usually backfire. They both enjoy the humor though and make jokes at crime scenes to keep their minds from thinking about all the blood and gore too much.
